All ya'll know is that I lost my job, and that was easily the LEAST crappy thing to happen to me in 2025.
2025 actually did suck. i know we've all said this about a lot of previous years but this one was quite bad actually

Evangelicals have a long history of falling in line when presented with charlatans and manipulative, vainglorious narcissists masquerading as saviors.
Why evangelicals couldn't care less about Trump's Epstein scandal
They have a long history of falling for narcissists posing as Saviors.

Treasure Planet 2 (unproduced): The Centurion, art by Emil Mitev

It's all the more unfortunate that Treasure Planet didn't find its audience, as it was conceived as the beginning of a saga. A sequel was already in pre-production before being canceled a few days after the film's disastrous release.

The workshop that makes all the toys for global distribution every year, for ridiculously cheap (unto negligible) cost?

...And people didn't somehow piece it together that the whole North Pole 圣诞老人 operation *wasn't* Chinese this entire time??

I wonder if any reactionary nationalists in history have ever ruined some undesirable group so monumentally with inhumane border and visa policies that one of they group lashed out in violent frustration, and then used that violence to provoke pogroms against that same group

The thing about woke is that most people don't care and don't have strong opinions about any of the below.

But America's politicians, journalists and tech elite are all on Twitter which must assuredly does care about woke and have fooled them into believing the average American is against this.

Very much agreed. It's always fascinating to see when people do this who'll espouse left wing ideas all day but can't be bothered with actual solidarity when it gets inconvenient for them.
Honestly, people calling creators the "petite bourgeoisie" makes me want to snap.

We're working folk. And we work really hard. For next to nothing.

We're not lounging around eating bonbons. We're trying to figure out how we're going to be able to pay rent next month.

Like it’s one thing for a group of people to say “I prefer to be called this” it’s another to TELL another whole country of diverse ethnicities and heritage that you will now be calling them something else.

Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.

This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

The most annoying thing about being an American is that if we got serious about our social safety net, it would be one of the best in the world just from much more capital we have to draw upon than your average rich country.
there are a ton of different quality of life indexes but the United States generally sits squarely in the middle of the pack of developed nations, which is about what you'd expect from a very rich country with a poor social security net.

Bidenomics did save this country, but inflation didn't recover fast enough, and the thing addressing inflation (a small increase to immigration) was so offensive to the median voter that they put a convicted felon/traitor/pedophile/moron back in office.
Bidenomics saved this country and he will never get a fucking shred of credit for it. World historical tantrum because "old."

Trump has lost the median voter, and Hispanic opposition is a few points beyond their historic averages toward Republicans.

We're back to where we were in 2020, not even a year into his second term.
Trump's approval among Latinos is dropping, with non-voters and his own voters seeing the largest declines since February
