One of the worst things our cishet 'friends' said to us when we came out was "We accept you".

We were exstatic for about 2 seconds and then he followed it up with "Because we know it's just a phase you're going through".

And that's why yesterday we not only got homophobic abuse from a guy in public, in front of the police, but he then called the cops on us for filming him do it and told them he'd sort us out if they didn't do something.

So the cops had a go at us about it.

When I was homeless in 2019, the Salvation Army shelter refused to give me a bed (even though they were available), because I was on immunosuppressant meds and they didn’t want to be responsible or liable if I got more sick or died on premises. They’d rather I die on the street.
