I remember grabbing it a while ago because I was curious about it being the first(?) console FPS with modern controls. I can get why reviewers had a hard time with it because the aiming is incredibly finicky and difficult to be accurate with. Definitely no Halo; being first doesn’t mean being great.

Just like Legacy, we got an amazing soundtrack, and Disney wasted a ton of money on a mid ass movie. (I don’t like either Tron movies so maybe I’m biased)

Great sprite work on low poly models feels like the best bridge between 2D and 3D in that era. Most of the games that went for realistic textures aged like unpasteurized milk.

Dear supporters of Bitmap Books,

Although I stand by the fact that Moses’ comments were ill-advised and insensitive, the whole thing blew up and was made much bigger than it needed to be. Moses has publicly apologised for any offence caused, as has the original poster of the comments who did not intend to cause this much trouble. I do not feel that this warrants an author losing his livelihood and ruining years of hard work to produce the book.

Despite multiple accusations to the contrary, Moses freely agreed to donate his royalties to charity. There was no coercion from me, however we both recognise that due to an increasingly stressful situation that decisions were rushed on both sides. I’m pleased to say that Moses and I have spoken again today, we stand together, and have agreed that he will receive 100% of his royalties.

Maybe I was hasty in my response, and I’m happy to admit to that. At the time I sincerely thought I was doing the right thing to diffuse an increasingly difficult situation. I will commit to donating all company profits from this first print run to the charity, Special Effect.

The bottom line is that is that Moses has apologised for his original comments, and will now be paid the royalties that are rightfully his.

Moses and myself have received a large amount of personal abuse and threats over the past few days. We hope that this statement will bring some closure to what has happened.

I’m sure the first fishing minigame was some famicom or PC-98 game, Japan loves their fishing minigames. Hell without even thinking, A Link to the Past had a very memorable one.

Only in the famicom version, US version didn’t use the Konami VRC2 mapper chip, so they cut out the overworld, cut scenes and background animations to run on Nintendos stock Mapper 2 chip, which had less ROM space.

You need to listen to it once completely through while driving a car alone. Then you have to
listen to it indoors lying down. THEN you pick a few and listen to them WHILE you read the lyrics on your computer. You WILL find that you misheard some of the lyrics. DONT panic. Its COMPLETELY normal and healthy. DONT think about taylors life yet and DONT try to make sense of the lyrics and DONT panic if you dont like some of the songs at first bc your brain will LEARN to like them (evolutionary mechanism).
THEN, continue listening on loop as needed but have 2-3 that you sometimes just listen to on repeat. THEN re-emerge into the world and connect with others about their response to the text. THEN apply practically to your life. THEN examine how they fit into taylors. At this point you can start to lightly engage in online discourse if that feels healthy and safe.
