Been a while since I posted art. Here's a woman and a cat. Watercolour inks with markers and pencils.
Yeah it's mostly how it flips, at points it just takes a character on the screen and decides it's our third person character lol
Had to watch this a few times because something was bugging me and

this keep flipping from first person to third person back to first person over and over, sure there's everything else that makes the entire thing feels like a fever dream but that in particular got me nauseous
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

The 100 dollar game thing is always wild cause like what do you think is gonna happen? Games are gonna be bigger? There will be less microtransactions? Developers will be treated any better?

because lol exactly 0 of those things are gonna happen

generally speaking, people should be eating way more candy than they do. next time you find yourself reaching for fresh produce at the grocery store, consider a bag of candy instead
To paraphrase another critic of "cozy", it's an aesthetic used by people who have "nothing to say" which isn't the same as "saying nothing". The landlord game showcased in the article is a good example of this, it has nothing to say about the subject and it says a lot of repugnant things as a result
The first "wholesome meme" I saw on the internet was thinly veiled xenophobia but twee (that everyone defended with "but it's wholesome, you're looking too deep into it!) so I'm not surprised more and more people are turning against the aesthetic in general, it's mostly used by skinwalkers
still thinking about this article today. so many societal ills are caused by people white-washing what actually happens. it's awful to see games do it too.

can't wait for cozy domestic violence simulator or cozy kkk simulator
a wholesome plane has hit the second cozy tower
more like no thoughts to declare

Adding to the Steam thing, one subtext of PC MASTER RACE was of the PC as an investment - paying more for the machine to pay less for software if you knew where to look. Like Steam, Humble Bundle, piracy if you're naughty. And not just for video games! It has always been about getting a good deal.
Anyone in the global south will tell you the main method of playing console games was through not-so-legal means. Steam MADE itself through deep sales of high priced PC games! But the economics understander believes AAA games are a sustainable industry and the proles are the problem
A bit into Silksong and I'm honestly confused at the whole discourse over paying for benches because for one this was in Hollow Knight too, not as often but it was there, for two rosaries aren't THAT rare? They don't drop from every enemy but I stumbled on plenty of caches that it's not a problem
So anyway I entered a new region then immediately walked away once its name flashed out

because of its out of game reputation

TFW u open BlueSky and a bunch of ppl are vaguely posting about the same shit
And also only taking into account launch prices of said games. IIRC of all the games I played on the SNES/N64 only three of them were bought at full price, the rest were all rentals or bought second hand

(Also playstation games were half the price and that console trounced everything in sales lmao)
Went straight into Silksong, man I'll have to get used to not having an easy pogo
Not the most evil take from that guy either!
lol remember the guy from the Financial Times who got so mad at me over this?
Yeah it's another issue, the same people who say games should cost more ALSO say games were always a high priced luxury when they both weren't AND we had more options. I spent way too much time on free MMOs and flash game sites, and the latter are gone.

Kids are priced out of toys, they are priced out of video games, all they get are games like Roblox and Fortnite designed from the ground up to exploit them.
it's another case of kids being written out of the equation because adults are a bigger and more stable form of income, who cares that the people buying kirby air riders for 100 dollars now could get the original for 15, that's unrelated to MONEY NOW

Stop saying "games should be more expensive and worse" the AAA devs heard you and the results are not good
HOLLOW KNIGHT (Ending 2)

Beat THE RADIANCE. That will be it for a while, not sure if I'll go for the 100%+ or the speedrun cheevos

With that, the adventure is over! Time for a break, and then silking the song after that

Seeing the usual "SNES games cost a ton too!" argument and a) this ignores a healthy rental and second hand market, b) why do you think the Playstation and it's 20 to 50 dollars games trounced Nintendo in the first place, why do you think Sega never recovered from that famous "two ninety nine" at E3
Any argument about increasing the price of games basically resumes itself to "poor people aren't allowed to enjoy art" with a dollop of "FUCKING ENTITLED GAMERS" and ignoring that the current AAA sphere already prices out anyone who's not a well off first worlder
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising
You were directly referencing Silksong with your 20$ indie game example and quite a few people got mad at the devs pricing it at that point. Once again you think poor people should not enjoy art.
"poor people do not deserve art" - you
