Inspired by @davekershaw.bsky.social ‘s efforts I thought I would get on with upping the visual tactile side of the Dublin Castle playtest materials with some blocks (dice show forces so keeping cubicle makes some sense).
Looks like a lot of fun. DM me if you want to have a go at my game, which uses the same system as Bonaparte's Eastern Empire.
This game starts with Hoche in 1796, it then allows the Batavian effort of 1797, as well as the latter efforts. Getting Hoche to Ireland is not easy with the weather and, once alerted, the royal navy. My opponent was especially inept with dice rolling though!
Missing the Ottomans who stood with them (well, some of them did).

Weekend #wargaming—some players thought the standard “Wings of Glory” scenario I run should be, well, even harder, so I’m adding dynamic weather in the form of moving clouds to unpredictably obscure bombing targets. Didn’t hurt it gave me an excuse to acquire a new map as well.
Adaption of the "Limits of Glory" system, as used in Form Square games, like "Bonaparte's Eastern Empire".
Correct. He's going to publish it hopefully. It'll be demoed at his convention in January.
Good author! I didn't know any other books apart from 1814 were translated.
1798 rebellion. As per history, the French utterly failed to turn up and, despite a brief capture of Belfast, the United Irishmen were pushed into Donegal and I won.
There's a reason I always avoided ASL.
Learning game of Congress of Vienna. This one is very complex. Took us 2 hours to muddle through one turn of 10.

Really made some progress today!
Another playtest of True Commands Ancients today with @gamingthepast.bsky.social . Today we worked on facing, morale & rally, which brought up other commander moves as well.
Playtesting The Charge, a light-hearted wargame about the charger of the light brigade. I got 67 of required 70 victory points here. So close. But then I also lost most of the light brigade, so it was a grand failure which unfortunately I couldn't blame on a subordinate.

Speak of the devil: Look who just received her first proof! 🎲✂️

Heavenly Bodies came out great (even with some small graphical improvements I’ve made since then!)

With this in hand, I’m now gonna hit *send* on the full order of 50! Wish me luck!
Necron dice. Almost unreadable

The first of my Arnhem Heroes that has been fully blocked in and washed. First relayering of the trousers done, and few more shade of highlights left on those, and then weapons and webbing and weathering.

If this great thread has crossed your timeline as it has mine, then you might enjoy this clip from SOE agent Harry Rée's interview with the Imperial War Museum. He describes his fistfight with a German of the Sicherheitsdienst, or SS Security Service.

so I was going back through old files and I try not to jerk off in the mirror too much about my own work but I really was touched by the noodly hand of the muse here
