This is why Evil Hat exists. The subsequent ~20 years don’t come to pass without that call, and that call doesn’t happen if we hadn’t gotten that recognition.

I’ve enjoyed the times we’ve gotten celebrated by the ENnies — SOTC’s win “coming out of nowhere” a couple years later put us on the map.

…because come 2005 Jim Butcher was talking with his agent about all these inquiries about the rights to the Dresden Files for an RPG, and didn’t want his IP to land in the hands of folks he didn’t know and could trust. His agent said “don’t you know some award winning designers?”
