Every time the government accepts money from the gambling industry, it increases its debts to companies whose business models are based on preying on young and vulnerable people, and doing them harm.

The Albanese government does this again and again.

To be able to say stuff like this with impunity is as good an indication as any of how the media & almost democratic institution has failed over decades. Forget comparisons with 1930s Germany: this is the key aesthetic of a genuine American fascism. Not coming or threatening, but fully in place.

The ‘most dangerous’ label isn’t that useful for understanding fascist or autocratic governments. It satisfies his ego, & discounts all the other dangerous people. If a piano fell on Miller today there’d be a new most dangerous man, but the same administration.
