Imagine how unmaintainably complex an automobile would be if all you needed to do was press a magic "duplicate" button. The world needs less software. More common platforms, more shared code, less code shipped to end users, less UI churn. AI coding tools all work contrary to those goals.

Most enterprise software should be replaced with open source packages developed by consortiums.

My gripe is that mostly the world needs less code written more thoughtfully, not more code written less thoughtfully.

Dating someone in the early 2010s who was really into self-help was eye-opening terms of seeing how that industry functions to industrialize pathological narcissism.
