There are many areas where the progressive vote is better directed away from Labour, eg here in Surrey where LibDems are surging. Labour could do 2 things - ideally switch from FPTP to PR; secondly be prepared to compromise on policy issues to form a joint administration - unlike in 2010

Looking ahead to full council elections next year, the leader of the Lib Dems group on the authority Roger Harmer said: "Labour are finished in Birmingham next May, and it's the Lib Dems who are beating them.

There is a moment at this time of year when the word ‘apricity’ really comes into view. For those who don’t know it, it was recorded only once, in 1623, before slipping out of view. Apricity is the warmth of the sun on a chilly day.

The two-child limit is cruel, self-defeating and traps children in a life of poverty.

It's time to end it once and for all.

The one positive many of us took from the success of Reform gaining Councils earlier in the year, is that the British public would finally see them in control. Thankfully they have proved to be as inept and corrupt as we expected and it has opened the eyes of who Reform truly are for many more.

In local elections up and down the country, the Liberal Democrats are winning week-in, week-out.
Only one anti-Brexiter on the panel, so Fiona Bruce leaves her to last when there's only 1 minute left. #bbcqt is in appalling hands
The choice of start date will resonate with most Britons. It is of course Fireworks Night when we remember the Gunpowder Plot
As an outsider I'm not fully conversant with the US Constitution, so please could somebody point out where the concept of "federal immunity" is articulated?

So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Over and over. On all platforms (some of y’all are still on X).

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 80th day out of the last 92.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Tactical voting in action? The polls had Plaid and Reform neck and neck, looks like Labour voters went for Plaid. I always vote Lib Dem because a Labour vote in my constituency is a waster vote, we got rid of Alex Chalk last year by voting tactically. It's the People's PR.

It was a blow for Reform which had led in the polls. There was a big Stop Farage campaign which suggests this could be effective in future elections.
So LD gains from Labour, Con & Independent today

Candidate for Reform (formerly Brexit Party, formerly UKIP…) loses case and intends to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights!

You couldn’t make it up!
More on the private party of good governance.

A Reform council candidate tied with the Greens, lost an electoral toss-up, petitioned the High Court, lost again and incurred a £19k legal bill, and now wants to appeal yet again - this time to the ECHR, that bogeyman of the right 😆

The Tories can shout at me all they like, but the truth is their Brexit deal it is hurting our country and Labour won’t do anything about it.

Today I urged the Prime Minister to actually fix it.

Here Lam explicitly sets out her proposal - which is official Conservative Party policy - to deport long-standing legal permanent residents who have *ever* claimed any benefit, including the state pension or child benefit (even if the child is British), or who earn less than £39K.
