Of interest here, the contract was finalized and executed by the league's four-person executive committee, without a final vote from all owners.

Some source said that the committee was given that mandate earlier this summer. Others said they believed all owners should still vote.

- House Republicans block Democrats from passing a bill to pay the troops during the shutdown, ensuring they will miss paychecks next week

Just realized it’s been 14 days since Jason Levien told people at the DCU season ticket member Q&A event on Sept. 11th that they were 48 hours away from announcing their MLS Next Pro partnership

Levien told folks at an STM Q&A last Thursday that the new Next Pro partnership would be announced in 48 hours and we’ve blown past that deadline so the answer is
