The Corbin Burnes trade notwithstanding, the defining philosophy of the Mike Elias era is that competing for a World Series the next year is subordinate to competing for a World Series three years from now.

Sonny Gray was never gonna be our savior, but he would have been a major improvement. Really getting tired of being the only team in our division who's not serious about adding legit starting pitching every winter.

Gonna be very strange not listening to Brett and Geoff together anymore. As a person who primarily consumes Orioles games on the radio I crave continuity in the booth. Guess it'll be more of Melanie and Ben this season...
Orioles radio/TV play-by-play announcer Geoff Arnold will not be returning in 2026, sources say. He was recently named one of Front Office Sports 26 rising pxp stars. Spent 5 years at Class-A before making the jump to MASN in 2020.

Spirit have bent, but not broken through the first half. Possession pretty heavily favors Gotham thru 45 but Kingsbury hasn't really been challenged yet. Let's see what the attack looks like with Rodman out there. Hope it'll be enough to break through.

Next to Burnes in game one last year, the best performance by an Orioles starter I have ever seen in-person was Grayson's eight shutout innings on Clinchmas Eve, 2023 in a gotta-have-it game against the Rays. I hope he is able to be what he was that night again someday. He deserves it.

I like Taylor Ward. He's got a chance to be the righty power bat we so badly need. But he's turning 32 next month and is in the final year of his contract. Tough to grapple with this being enough to give up on Grayson, even if it's a long climb to get him back on the mound.
