"President Trump continued to describe Portland as a city on fire Friday even as residents enjoyed the first fall rain and the lone demonstrator at the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement building was dressed as a pink Care Bear."

Sometimes there is a good sentence or two in the NYT.

Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”

I agree. I still don’t feel like Bluesky has anywhere close to the energy that Twitter did—and it’s a lot more boring generally—but the incentive structures over there have gotten really warped (and I’m worried about the right-wing doxxing).

An Illinois-based federal judge has ruled, for now, that the Trump administration cannot deploy the National Guard to Chicago, saying that the administration’s “perceptions of events are simply unreliable.” “I am very much struggling to figure out where this would ever stop.”

Cuomo has, shall we say, baggage when it comes to Letitia James. Hence his conspicuous reaction to her indictment: calling out law enforcement politicization "whether it comes from the right or the left." @gwynnefitz.bsky.social

When the power went out in Spain this spring, many people immediately pointed the finger at the country's solar and wind power as the cause.

That wasn't the trigger, but a new survey finds that all that misinformation?

It had an impact.

We must take this stuff seriously. Please, none of this “he just has some controversial opinions” stuff. Don’t call him “America’s most canceled man” or something.

If you are going to interview Fuentes, it’s unforgivable to set aside his neo-Nazism.
