Parents can be part of it but I work with a lot of families in New York and New England who are very liberal who are struggling with sons who have been pulled into this through social media.

Not any tougher than a classroom of seventh graders. All it takes is one bystander to say “that is wrong.” The media isn’t calling this bullying so they’re not reacting as if there is a bully and a victim in the room.

There are three at least people involved in bullying: the bully, the targets (those being bullied), and the bystanders (those who witness the bullying). Bystanders can stop the bullying by calling it out or they can become reinforcers by doing nothing or laughing. This here is reinforcement.
