Portland police arrested a right-wing agitator at the ICE facility. Protesters say this man punched a woman in the face on video. I’ll update if I see the video, but it seems very likely given how fast PPB responded and what everyone is saying.

#AlexAlott was charged with allegedly assaulting a federal officer with an umbrella. Yesterday, she was exonerated because VIDEO disproved the accusation. But Daniel, who attended the trial to support her, was detained the same day that the trial finished.

I am struck by how lack of standing seems to so frequently evade court challenge to unconstitutional government actions.

It's an odd thing missing, given that this problem was solved in ancient Athens: for certain matters the entire citizen body ('ho boulomenos,' 'whoever wishes') had standing.

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

Hopefully everyone here understands what that means. It means that prior to insurrection intended to end our democracy, Trump and his agents had prepared a false flag op by which violence committed by persons in their camp would be blamed on the left so that the Insurrection Act could be invoked.

I think the fact that we allowed cops to lie openly with no real consequences is part of How We Got Here. If the people with the ability to shoot others in the street are allowed to lie about it, you can't expect other officials to abide by a higher standard.
