Hey! I've been getting a large influx of followers today... so lemme introduce myself!

I'm Nick! I'm a 40 yr old #ttrpg #gamedev from CT! I write games because I want to arm people with joy to combat the despair the world tries to drown us in.

find them at fallonmyblade.itch.io

This is a good conversation that ya'll should follow #ttrpg #gamedev folk.

My take is in the comments, but the tl;dr is: Sure do the thing the first time if it doesn't hurt anyone, but play it straight afterwards.
jdragsky.bsky.social
has anyone written about the process of conversational repair in analog games? specifically thinking about stuff like:
- "i move my meeple 5 spaces" "i think it's 6 spaces"
- "oh, last turn i should've given you an extra 3 tokens. do you want them now?"
- "it's too late now, but for next time..."

In non competitive settings, its more "go ahead, adjust it so its correct again, but next time if it bites you in the ass you're just cooked" feels like its a good compromise. Let people learn and have fun, but accountability led without malice should be the principle that leads the day. 2/2

Generally speaking, if the next turn hasn't happened yet? Sure make the correction. However, once an opponent has played something, its really not fair to them because they probably made that choice based on the board state presented to them at the time before you made your correction. 1/2

Contemplating how the most influential award show for Evil Hat was the Indie RPG Awards held in the early 00s, before Evil Hat existed as a company. @rdonoghue.bsky.social and I won one for an earlier incarnation of Fate, “best free game”. It was a narrower population that knew about it, but enough…

I looked at that Screenshot really hard to figure out where you where cause my mental picture of you can't be completed without a cowboy hat.

Rule number one of fighting people that can deflect bullets: Don't carry something you can't survive a hit from.

Also, I just need ya'll to see the work I put into this shop. Roofing this was a lot of work! Honestly, I really just want some people to share the love of building pretty houses with.
It's my shop in Saleblazers. It features three distinct sections with barnyard style roofs. In the center is a peaked roof with cross beams in an intricate pattern. The sides have mini towers with turrets atop. There's about twelve people walking inside. We make a LOT of money.

The Alt text is basically the same, but my sword look like the weapon of a hero from a 12 yr olds fan fic.

Its Sharpened by a master blacksmith, Poisoned by a Swamp Witch, Technologically enhanced to emit lightning by a Genius Scientist, and Blessed by the cold of a mountain by a Deity.
A screenshot from "SaleBlazers" it's a picture of my inventory with a tool tip of a legendary iron katana.

It says so in the stats!

Of all of the mundane horrors of life few are worse than repeatedly calling your phone and forgetting that you had put it on silent.

Blades in the Dark Best Practices and Bad Habits
The bad habits that are listed here are fewer in number but oh so much greater in the size and capitalisation of their headings

If you wanna see indie creators succeed, remember you can always write reviews, talk about your play experience, do shoutouts, plenty of stuff that helps so much since there's only so many places that offer us outreach, especially if we are outside of the D&D/OSR space

I really love building houses in these games!
fallonmyblade.bsky.social
Really though? I think having little virtual people pop in, make messes, buy stuff, comment on how cool your place is becoming, etc. is one of the biggest selling points for me. That it also doubles as a decent survivalv crafter with heavy ARPG influences is a cherry on the cake.

The combat is smooth, but the parry system is a bit unforgiving and can take some getting used too. Fortunately theirs a metric fuck ton of guns (and things to hit or stab someone with in general due to the nature of the games pick up anything and sell or murder someone with it nature) to balance.

You can literally sell trash to get your first stack of bills. Then eventually when you get big racks on racks on racks? YOU CAN BEAT PEOPLE TO DEATH WITH YOUR OVERPOWERED WALLET.

Or like literally anything else that isn't a drink or food item. Banna peel? Bitch smack them with it. Lightpost? YES!

So ya'll. This game I'm playing "Saleblazers"?

This game is gas.

Its like Moonlighter and Enshrouded had a baby and that baby went on to be a wonder child.

You run a store, can hire employees to help with task, and build the store from the ground up in classic pretty house games fashion.

I mean as an aside, those people?

THIS IS THIRD SHIFTER ERASURE AND I SHALL BE AT YOUR HOUSE WITH A COMICALLY ENORMOUS AIRHORN.
fallonmyblade.bsky.social
Bro ended up being a tragic demon drop kicking hero with a cool hot air balloon with a hook that transports HIS SWORD around at his call.

I put a lot of badass to a murder mystery character!

Ya'll should go watch the vods.

Alas, I haven't been doing AP long enough to expect people to answer this question.

My favorite though? Reggie Scarborough from @enchantingsorcery.bsky.social 's End of Love campaign.

He was supposed to be a bad guy if you can believe it!
What is your favorite character created by this artist.

My prayer for death joins their chorus.
