As I contemplate how or even if I should review a scrubbed HP fan fic, to offer an honest but critical review in a sea of anti-trans sycophants.

I can’t help but dwell on familiar issues I have with how stories about pregnancy give the illusion of choice to side step the issue of abortion.

As a kid was it was Serpent and the Rainbow, but only because I didn’t see People Under the Stairs until I was an adult.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

can’t wait to see if this website runs on essentially the same model as a “speakwithanmd/com” or an “all family pharmacy” or a “wellness company” ie: the physical manifestations & fulfillment centers of the far right alt-medical disinfo machine 🥲

Dr. Oz announces that TrumpRx.gov is now live.

If you click, you'll see — it's essentially just a banner ad for now.

U.S. officials have said it will formally launch in January 2026 and help Americans find discounted drugs.

KOSA just got a bunch of new cosponsors so, y'all, kindly tell them to knock it the fuck off.
Make this bill unpassable for the sake of keeping the open internet, enough of this censorship BS and "protect the children" excuses.

This whole thread!!! when I talk about YA authors getting picked up to write romantasy, it's overwhelmingly white authors writing het romance. but that represents just a fraction of what's actually happening in the YA space.
bookjockeyalex.bsky.social
There are real conversations to be had about thematic issues with romantasy, what publishers are buying vs what they're rejecting, YA being colonized by NA, etc. But what ends up getting the most marketing, into celebrity book clubs, and on bestsellers lists isn't representative of the whole genre.

This.

Remember: just because they don't have national name recognition, doesn't mean they're not qualified. Both Betty Yee and Tony Thurmond have worked w/in CA state government, and know the ropes. They're good.

KP's never worked in Sacramento or w/ the Legislature in-depth.
ktpersists.bsky.social
this is a good thread! Betty Yee was just endorsed by the Progressive Democrats, I hope she starts to get more attention in this race and that we don’t end up with a villaraigosa or caruso as gov
celestepewter.bsky.social
Okay, I really don’t want to keep talking about this, since frankly - I hate KP. She’s an example of toxic management, and I saw what she did to my friends.

But I’m really disturbed by the number of women, specifically white women on Threads and on here, justifying her cursing at staff.

Dear Photobucket,
Please stop emailing me. I have no interest in keeping the account I used for my fan art. I have back ups and honestly, the internet is better off not seeing a detailed record of me learning how to photoshop actor’s faces into classical paintings and Romance novel clinch covers.

You’re not alone. The magic stuff is a big part of what I l of about the series too.
fangirljeanne.bsky.social
That is to say this series has a character who drinks wildfire because he’s convinced it will turn him into a dragon.
fangirljeanne.bsky.social
It depends on your definition of weird.
fangirljeanne.bsky.social
Yep. It’s Dunk and egg. I love these books.
fangirljeanne.bsky.social
In this first book, first season, there’s some threats of violence against women, though it’s more racist and xenophobic than sexual in nature. I’m about to reread so I’ll let you know if there some and I forgot about it. But yeah, if they stick to the book you could watch.
fangirljeanne.bsky.social
I warn people who like GoT or even HotD to not expect this to be like either of those show. No magic, likely no nudity, this is like a middle grade story set in the world of Westeros.

Personally, the casting of Blood Raven will make or break this series for me.

If Blumhouse doesn't give a shit about their creative output, if all they care about is feeding slop to the masses, then I don't care about Blumhouse. There are other production companies I can give my money and eyeballs to.
