I take it with a grain of salt since the source decided to remain anonymous but there is a story from a witness saying he's called it his "little totenkopf" back in 2013.

There's no outside verification on that so take it with a healthy dose of skepticism, but I suspect he did know.

Yeah I'm willing to take the totenkopf story with a little grain of salt since it's an anonymous story and I don't know if it was verified independently or not but it seems likely.
