As a family, we hit our out of pocket maximum for the year about a month ago. Two days ago, my daughter broke her arm. I said to my husband, well at least this is free. He reminded me we're still paying premiums every month. This is "good" insurance.

Every time we talk about any issue we also talk about who is fighting back. My kids know that shit is bad now, that it's been bad before, that it'll be bad again - and that there always have been and always will be fighters. They're 9&12 and they feel better with information and action.
