I was a bit doubtful that traitors would work with celebrities, but it's maybe even better. When Claudia said "people lie to you all the time" it was brilliant.

Farage poisons our media with fascism. Fuck off Farage.
Newspaper headline: Farage: 'teachers poison our kids with Marxism'

This is the maddest tour I've ever seen in my life. It seems like he's doing more gigs than there are days in the year.
A quite insane tour schedule

Wow, imagine paying for your children NOT to learn a language at school.
eicathomefinn.bsky.social
'The Ministry of Defence (MoD) spends about £1m a year sending children to private schools in north Wales because "state schools teach some or all lessons in the Welsh language".

It paid £1,019,000 in day school allowance in north Wales for 83 children of service personnel in 2024-2025'.

Discuss.
MoD spends millions on private schools to avoid Welsh language
Military personnel receive a private education allowance to avoid lessons in Welsh in state schools.

Happy Monday! I was having a good day until I was reminded by the SS Richard Montgomery… via @kentcurrent.news
Screen shot of text: An ally of Vladimir Putin has gone on Russian state television to suggest blowing up the SS Montgomery, a sunken ship in the Thames Estuary with roughly 1,400 tonnes of explosives on board.

But the school email system can only cope with one parent email address. Don't live together? Never mind, I'm sure you'll manage to pass the information on.

New on the blog: The arcane alphabets of Black Sabbath

To commemorate Ozzy Osbourne, we took a deep dive into the obscure typefaces used on Black Sabbath’s first four album covers.

This is so depressing, they don't realise they are there to learn rather than just to gain a qualification. If you study things like assembly in your degree, yeah, you won't be using it at work, but it really helps in knowing what's happening under the hood.

This tweet has been doing the rounds on Twitter now that Nathan Gill has pleaded guilty.

If only someone had tried to investigate UKIP & Russian interference 🧐

There’s another timeline where the Guardian supported me, doubled down on the investigation & I look 5 years younger ..

Frustrating that he can't see this. The right wing press have always hated Labour, I don't know why they keep trying to appease them.

this is crude to say but starmer could goose step out on stage, throw a nazi salute & order every immigrant rounded up into camps, & it wouldn't convince a single fascist to vote for him, because what they want isn't rational. a far-right party would simply say "we'll do that but more & faster"
hankspears.bsky.social
Totally agree with this.

A database like this would be a HUGE target for hostile state hackers. Only a matter of time before it's compromised. Bringing systems together is a terrible idea from a security perspective.

Three statements of local ambition stand in Halifax, West Yorkshire: the Town Hall, the Borough Market and the Piece Hall. Such monuments of civic pride still bear the names of farsighted local leaders from past generations.

I have to admit I underestimated how much Elon buying Twitter would influence our politics - not because of its influence on ordinary people, which I predicted accurately as "significant but not extraordinary," but because I didn't realize how addicted all our journos and politicians are to Twitter
