May Day, best day, solidarity forever from South Minneapolis ✊🏻☀️🌹
Ahead of today’s presser, let me share what last Friday night with a young child in South MPLS was like. Here we are, just south of Lake St, in a neighborhood with a large % of immigrants. Clearly, the city is out of control.

Heads up Minneapolis - we're next.

Secretary of puppy-shooting, Kristi Noem, will unfortunatey be coming to Minneapolis tomorrow. Join us at the Whipple Building near MSP at Noon for a Press Conference and *again* at 4pm to protest Kristi Noem. Stand with our neighbors and friends against the terror of the Trump regime.

South Minneapolis! Come get a whistle and get some practice in!
Girl do all the angry people in the comments of the NPR article know about you?
Oh someone had taken down the middle ones the very first night they were installed! Glad to see they’ve been replaced already
I normally think MRLF nails endorsements and often use them to help friends in other cities determine who to vote for. However the Hyman endorsement is a big disappointment, considering her strong advocacy for school resource officers 🤨
This shit makes it hard to keep a subscription!
I mean I also wanna cry when I have to take a car 😆
Also I will take five more minutes via bike to avoid parking in most places ha
I don’t think we talk enough (except for @lauragmitchell.com) about what is gained by taking the longer routes. We are so connected to our neighborhood and neighbors due to these choices. It is a time investment, but it is invested well.
Parent here whose child’s favorite way of traveling ranks: walking, biking, bussing, car, and i would say that fairly represents the order in which we get around with her. The first three options are 1000x more enjoyable for our family, which is part of the calculation for choosing them.

Mayor Frey says all the work he does is “transitory.”
As in temporary or fleeting. Nothing better describes his leadership style. Managing by press conference and never being accountable for his past actions and words.

Maybe that’s why his language “evolves.” It’s all transitory.

it’s Indigenous peoples day, so if you need to purchase an indulgence for your settler sins, you can venmo me at @ziibiing and I will redistribute your wealth to Indigenous people 🫡

also, I will be accepting land or cabin donations anywhere in anishinaabe akiing (MN, WI, MI, Ontario/Manitoba)
Tell any of your friends ranking Frey that they need to read this.
I hope @dewayneforminneapolis.com doesn't mind me retelling a story he told me when we first met last winter. I kept it to myself because he wasn’t telling it publicly but he mentioned it yesterday. It’s one of the things that’s leading me to rank him first. A hope-its-ok-and-I-get-right 🧵:
Yesterday, I hosted an incredible event, "Ward 8 for a New Mayor." We talked about why we need a new mayor and then @jazzformayor.bsky.social , @omarfatehmn.com , and @dewayneforminneapolis.com laid out why they should be our next mayor. I came away excited about all of them and will rank all three!

7/ Caught in a lie, Frey never apologized. Instead, we got his famously weasely “Language became more casual, including my own.” BTW this is the 1st election voters can hold Frey accountable for lying & Locke dying, but the incident is almost memory-holed in coverage. www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne...
Minneapolis Mayor Frey Admits To Being Misleading On 'No-Knock' Policy Changes
"Language became more casual, including my own, which did not reflect the necessary precision or nuance. And I own that," Mayor Jacob Frey said.

They’re understanding how ranked choice voting works.

Each of them would prefer that they get to be mayor. But they would also prefer either of the other two to be mayor over Frey being mayor.
Oh yeah Jesus famously never talked about societal issues.
Pleased to get affirmation that @dewayneforminneapolis.com should get my #1 vote!

(Followed by @omarfatehmn.com and @jazzformayor.bsky.social; rank all three!)

Davis Moturi email to city council, read aloud by CM Wonsley Wednesday. Sees similarity between his case & Mariah Samuels: "A black person in fear for their lives, and a department who can't be bothered to forward a case for consideration of charges in our time of greatest need."
And more bike racks! The lack of bike parking confounds me
Fewer baseball fields, more [soccer/other] fields
New cargo bike library addition???
