Of course, Greens have previous form on joining disastrous electoral pacts. Perhaps Zarah making the lack of reciprocal good faith from the other side so clear this early on might ironically help to avert another one.

Great discussion at TWT on how the left must unite — Your Party and the Greens — to keep Farage out of Downing Street.

But unity isn’t uniformity. Your Party will be truly anti-imperialist: no diplomatic ties with a genocidal, apartheid Israeli state and no greenwashing NATO.

I'd park the snark if I was serious about building alliances.

It's remarkable how Your Party have managed to throw away so much good will so quickly.

My respect for Zarah is plummeting fast. And judging by the replies and quotes, it seems nearly everyone here feels the same

One could be a lot nastier in response to this but, if nothing else, it's striking that she chooses to be snide towards Polanski when he has been for more respectful and polite to her than any of the Your Party MPs.

Stabbing allies in the back before they have even started. It's all plain to see that this lot are just like the other parties and will do anything for power. I hope The Greens side steps this mess of a party.

Yesterday, the Greens were celebrating 87,000 members.

Today, they have skyrocketed 93,000 members, making this most likely the fastest growth the party has ever seen before in terms of membership figures.

If you want places to be accessible to older and disabled people installing benches is one very helpful thing to do.

Seems a few people are worried that young people will sit on a bench and be a bit annoying, so the bench won’t be installed after all.

Good that the Covid Inquiry is hearing about play, that it’s not just a nice to have, that it’s essential to childhood, for fun, that it’s how children exercise, that public play is unevenly policed, and that children’s right to play should have been upheld in lockdown.

Let's call a spade a spade.

A "flying electric taxi" is essentially a private jet.

The last thing we need more of - electric or not.

Flying is hugely energy intensive.

Let's get East West Rail built and trains running asap instead.

Flying electric taxis will be travelling between Oxford and Cambridge next year. A six-month pilot project (geddit) aims to prepare the infrastructure and develop a business case as a first step towards “commercially viable regional operations”.

Over a million, I think it was 300k ish when I first looked this morning.

Struggling to fathom why Labour would spend their non existent political capital on this at this moment. Is this supposed to get applause at conference?

"on a technicality"

Not really.

A failure to get necessary consents to a terror charge is not a slight error. They are safeguards when a person faces a serious charge.

Prosecutors should take such safeguards seriously: this is terrorism law they are using.

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide!

It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers.

It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!
"How Do You Avoid Hitting People With Your Car" pocket guide. Instructs readers to Watch the Road and Slow Down. Further text humorously insists that watching the road and slowing down are indeed important.

Absolutely ridiculous that Caerleon doesn’t have a railway stop. It’s 100% needed and ridiculous that one wasn’t given under the New South Wales Metro scheme.

One of the most important Tourist destinations in Cymru. It is also located in a commuter area. I hope sense prevails.
