Two things struck me on a deep level, when he was standing there thrusting at them, and then he pointed, and they quailed before him, retreating in disarray. The second time was when they fired those pepper-balls at him, and he just broke out some dance-moves. That Frog is a total, total mensch. 👊

Being a member of the EU was always an advantage for the UK in exports to the rest of the world outside the EU.
davidheniguk.bsky.social
Between 2019 and 2024 in real terms EU exports grew by 11%.

UK exports also grew. By 0.89%.

That's the total. Goods exports were lower in real terms in 2024 than in 2014.

Trump is using the shutdown as an opportunity to expedite his reckless drive to shrink federal government - despite the dire implications for American health care, epidemic readiness and international health security.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

“What are we doing here, America?”
Giving British fascism a role model, it seems.
The leader of the UK’s Conservative Party: “Our new Removals Force, modelled on US ICE, will deport 150,000 illegal migrants each year.”

The would-be PM wants to remove our ECHR rights so she can do this ⤵️ to us here.

No surprise from the man who sold his country down the river just to become PM - a corrupt, useless, self serving lying one at that

Johnson seems to be guilty of Misconduct in Public Office.
Not only is there much evidence of his alleged corruption,
his recklessness in govt resulted in many thousands of people unnecessarily dying of Covid.
Has anyone yet contacted the police with a view to prosecution?
(Max. penalty is life..)
Screenshot from UK Govt website, re Misconduct in Public Office:

It’s an ill wind!
If lolsuits are a thing in the crazy world we’re in now, maybe we can be entertained also by inept clowns inadvertently performing slappstick.

I want to take a moment to thank Drew for taking an interest in my work and putting together such an excellent profile.

Most of what I do focuses on highlighting prominent figures and their statements, so being the subject of a profile is a new experience—and a meaningful one.

Former Head of Comms for the IEA, Annabel Denham, says the super rich will leave if we have a wealth tax.

Yes, the very same IEA that brought us Liz Truss’ disastrous mini budget. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Awkward for Zia Yusuf, who keeps being sent out to lie as cover for the Reform UK leader

Who did Nigel Farage have lunch with after resigning as UKIP leader 4 July 2016?

Why, it's Russian bribe enthusiast Nathan Gill, who then did the important news briefing on his behalf (to Russia Today)

I don’t have a crystal ball, but I have a good idea how this shutdown ends. Trump and Republicans will cave (he won’t admit he’s caving, of course, but he will cave).

Here’s why: Air traffic controllers.
