It’s remarkable to realize Diane Keaton created a signature look and sensibility back in the 1970s and for about half a century continued to be a creative inspiration for how to be yourself in a world that tries so hard to put you in a box. Well done, Diane Keaton. RIP.

Diane Keaton’s first TV credit was “Love, American Style” in November 1970. She and Monte Markham played pen pals. She also appeared on “Night Gallery” in December 1970 and “The FBI” in February 1971.

RIP, Diane Keaton.

A young Diane Keaton played — what else? — a ditzy femme fatale heiress on “Mannix” in February 1971. It was her fourth TV appearance, according to IMDb. It also was the last time she did episodic TV until “The Young Pope,” an HBO miniseries, in 2016.

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

That old Prange's price sticker is cool to see, but I must ask again ... who is leaving shrink wrap on records for 57 years? This one is from 1968, seen yesterday at Rock n' Roll Land, one of our record stores in Green Bay.

Good evening from Clintonville, where Seagrave Fire Equipment is sponsoring tonight's Northwoods Conference football game against Crivitz at the top of the hour. Seagrave makes fire trucks here.

Donald Trump has made life in America so profoundly bizarre that GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is starting to make sense. She's not sane, nor is she an ally of any sort, but her bucking of Trumpian orthodoxy may be a sign of a grifter shift in the MAGA world.

Our nation's federal employees are more than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

They make sure we have clean water.

They protect us from financial fraud.

They provide healthcare to our communities.

They make our government actually work for people.

Do not forget this.

Federal agents aren’t trying to keep the peace. They want violence to escalate so that Trump can declare martial law.

They shot a reverend in the head with pepper balls while he was praying in front of an ICE facility. If that doesn’t tell you where we are as a country, nothing will.

Great high school baseball and football player in Clintonville, Wisconsin, in the mid-'70s. A bunch of good athletes have come from -- and are still coming from -- the extended Jirschele family.

Sending our congratulations to World Series Champion Mike Jirschele, and wishing him the best in retirement!

We'll miss you, Jirsch!
A graphic with cutout photos of Mike Jirschele smiling, high-fiving Mike Moustakas as he rounds third base, and posing for a photo with his son and Chicago White Sox Third Base Coach, Justin, set against a royal blue background. Text on the graphic reads, "Mike Jirschele, congrats on your retirement! All-Time wins leader in Omaha Storm Chasers history, 3x Manager of the year (1992, 1994, 2024), 2015 World Series Champion, 95 players promoted while manager."

Good. Can't rule out that this tactic might be needed somewhere in Wisconsin, maybe sometime soon, maybe even right here in Green Bay.

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

Re-upping this piece I wrote a month ago, which becomes ever more relevant as Trump's tyranny worsens, as masked thugs keep terrorizing immigrants, and as the "Justice" Department keeps inventing charges against political opponents.
I ask: WHY WON'T THE MEDIA SAY TRUMP IS BECOMING A DICTATOR?
Why won’t the media say Trump is becoming a dictator?

Adelita Grijalva won her election to Congress over two weeks ago, but Mike Johnson still hasn't sworn her in.

Why the delay?

Perhaps it's because Grijalva would cast the final vote needed to release the Epstein files.

Gotta change, Wisconsin.

WI rarely imprisoned >3,000 for a century. Since adopting Truth in Sentencing, prisoner numbers have soared to 23,500. Many are over 60 w/ health care needs. Use of compassionate release could ease costs & crowding but just 5 of 63 cases were approved in 2024

Wisconsin rarely grants compassionate release as aging, ailing prisoners stress systems
Increased use of compassionate release could ease costs and crowding with minimal risks to public safety, experts say. But it remains off limits to many prisoners.

More than two dozen Minnesota school board members and candidates have signed a letter in support of transgender athletes, calling for state and school leaders to affirm those students’ “right to fully participate in school sports.”

The letter released Friday counters an earlier letter from others who want to comply with a federal demand to ban transgender athletes in girls sports.

Lots of ways to understand the contemporary moment but one is the role of owners of immobile assets - oil, gas, coal and land- who want to ensure they can continue to extract rents (and pollute) and who prefer an authoritarian set up to do so. Their threat perception rises with every new eco tech

George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.
