Keyword: “relevant.” Translation: nothing to see here.

No one should trust the DOJ to decide what counts as relevant. We all know there are millions of unreleased docs.

🚨 The DOJ says it has released all of its “relevant” records on Jeffrey Epstein, but some lawmakers are demanding more.

Using military lawyers to prosecute or adjudicate cases because civilian lawyers are resigning over ethical or legal concerns crosses a line. That is the kindest, most restrained way to put it. ICYMI @markhertling.bsky.social: lnk.thebulwark.com/3O5lJZa
JAGs Shouldn’t Be Civilian Prosecutors
The mass deportation policy is a legal mess—and reassigning military lawyers to support it would only create more problems.

This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.

The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”

It’s about control.

My wife might be eligible for Canadian citizenship through a great-grandparent if documentation could be found.

Though my grandfather came to the United States via Canada as a boy, he was never a Canadian citizen. Just passing through in search of a better life than in turn-of-the-century Germany.

Hear, hear! I don’t give a shit about someone’s immigration status.

I want them all to get citizenship if they want it. I want a legal, tractable and accessible process. That’s all.

Immigrants are not a threat. Racists are.
Remarkable: Majority of working class voters oppose deportations of undocumented immigrants with jobs/no criminal records, per new Marquette data.

Remember how pundits said 2024 meant Dems must become restrictionist to win back working class? I challenge that here:

Many of the phrases, images, and attached media used by the Trump administration aren’t just regular social media content.

They repurpose language, symbolism, and cultural references with direct connections to neo-Nazi and white supremacist movements.

Who Save America Act could disenfranchise:

-146 million without passport

-69 million married women who took spouse's last name

-21 million without ready access to citizenship docs

-21 million without current drivers license

-Rural voters forced to drive 4.5 hours to show docs at election office
You need to know about the SAVE Act, which recently passed in the House.

So here's a crash course from reporter Ari Berman on how the sweeping voter restriction bill could disenfranchise millions of Americans

If my math is right, the current force is 10X the normal amount

And what’s a “security force”? This is Minneapolis, not Baghdad
White House border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that more than 1,000 immigration agents have left Minnesota's Twin Cities area and hundreds more will depart in the days ahead. A "small" security force will stay for a short period. https://to.pbs.org/4aDO804
Trump's border czar says smaller force of ICE agents will remain in Minnesota amid drawdown
He also said agents will keep investigating fraud allegations as well as the anti-immigration enforcement protest that disrupted a service at a church service.

This is important to recognize. There are very few brakes on the actions of the Trump regime and things are very likely to get worse before they can get better. The example of the bravery of the people of Minneapolis is going to need to be repeated in other places.
While MLPS was a victory, moral and tangibly, for ICE resisters, don't call it 'a retreat.' The dystopia is just getting started

Thousands of new agents. 150 new offices in every state. And the nationwide gulag archipelago. The fight has just begun
