We choose mutual aid as a moral and political act - we are caring for our community and knowing we will be cared for in our turn.

The state is going to abandon us but we do not have to abandon ourselves.
It is understudied how the people who were objectively right about things like civil rights, fighting apartheid, opposing the gulf war, getting vaccines are vilified for being annoying and the mainstream reaction is: gimme a break hippie 🙄
Lets try some shit that might help peoples lives given all the market imperfections in NYC seems like a totally reasonable thing to do. Anyhow the NYPD will crush him 18 months in on some bullshit
whether it is feeding the hungry or taking bribes openly in the white house, both sides are problematic
Donald Trump and Zohran Mamdani are set for a dramatic clash, with New York as its stage and victim. The city may soon become an arena for a fight between two men with bad ideas econ.st/4hAdMpv

Mutual aid groups would be glad to come in and give workshops on community support!
Long before all this current b*******, a whole lot of junior enlisted families relied upon assistance for food. It was well known at every level of the military. I was in more than a few meetings at the naval station where we tried to come up with ways to help our sailors and their families on this.
🚨🇺🇸Why isn’t this a top story in America?? It will be on my show today.

I talked today to leaders at Fort Bragg and junior enlisted troops with kids are feeling it. And it’s wrong!

No idea what this means, but this chart is crazy.

It's worth noting that mail-in voting is new here - introduced last year.

I heard that Zohran Mamdani called neccessity the “mother” of invention, even though neither necessity nor invention are biological units capable of being a “mother” or “child”.
Honestly this post was underappreciated

This man is clearly part of the gang but has been hired as a consultant and will fall in love with the lead detective
It’s rare for me to say this about a NYTimes article, but I love everything about this story. And that photo. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/23/s...

There's something the Democratic party should learn here but they won't. They'll continue to hire consultants to that tell them to work on converting moderates and conservatives instead of going out and talking to their potential voter base.
"Black organizers had noticed gaps in the campaign’s strategy for reaching Black voters. To address them, they led canvasses in working-class Black neighborhoods...By early October, Mamdani had taken a commanding lead over Cuomo among Black voters"

Sure. But doggy-dog is 7x more fun
Not to be THAT dictionary, but…

It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’
It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’
It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’
It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’
It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'

John Roberts looking ahead to what awaits him
I found it pretty charming to learn that after Roger Taney died, sitting lawmakers called his death a "victory for liberty and the Constitution," suggested that he was probably burning in hell, and joked (?) that they'd rather hang him in effigy than do literally anything to honor his memory
Roger Taney’s Contemporaries Hated Him As Much As You Probably Do
Ordinarily, members of Congress do not publicly suggest that recently deceased Supreme Court justices are burning in hell. But Roger Taney was no ordinary Supreme Court justice.

So is he now Andrew Windsor?
The regime and its supporters at universities want to erase trans people
A Texas public university administrator's notes for a meeting with faculty.

"No daylight": faculty "cannot discuss or teach anything regarding transgender - only male and female." They must "scrub" syllabi for "transgender items."

And keep everything out of writing: "Don't email; talk directly."
wear it! You look great!

I think one of the biggest cleavages in our society that no one talks about is the division between those that think powerful people must be held to a higher standard than non-powerful people and those who think powerful people should be flattered and sucked up to.
2025 is the graveyard of respect for so many institutions.

My alma matter promised to run curricula by the white house and to be mean to trans girls to get trump off their back
Mamdani transparently loves new york and new yorkers and has things he believes in. That seems replicable
Mamdani is going to win. The question will now be, "Can you reproduce this?" It's doubtful. He's talented. But it's possible, first of all, if you remember all politics is local, and the more local you get - the more people recognize you - the more things like age and parties cease to matter.

How W. E. B. Du Bois responded to government policing of "anti-American" sentiment during the 1910s:

"I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, 'We are seeking to have the Constitution of the United States thoroughly and completely enforced.' ”
