With love, ferocity, pride, and spite, we will endure.

It was contingent on the feelings of one person.

Anne and I exchanged war stories and virtual hugs during our divorces, which happened at the same time. Mine was rough. Anne's was off the scale.

A random trans woman online who helped me through my cracking told me "transition has a gravity to it" and ain't that the truth

I got "you'll never be a woman" and "I'm not a lesbian" IN THE SAME DAMN CONVERSATION.

I mean, at least be consistent in your choice of hostility.

By autumn 2019, I was out everywhere except work. I'd planned on National Coming Out day, but for various reasons I delayed for a week.

So that's yet another Jillian/Anne parallel - out at work within five days of each other!

Can you have loss if you come out? Yes. I lost a spouse and more. But I gained so much, it exceeds and eclipses. I have grown. I have love again and many more friends. I have community.

I will no longer die a lonely old man asking "what if."

I have nearly always jumped against odds and done well.

Once you take the first steps, the courage feeds on itself. Coming out can change you, more than you might expect.

I was told by my ex even a few years ago that it was not a good atmosphere to be coming out.

It wasn't a choice, like wearing a bow tie. I'm me, I must live my life as my true self. I was afraid but I drove forward, as I had turned back too often and that hurt more.

I am out, free, me. Happiness.

"she made out she was fully a girl" on account of being fully a girl.

This guy is a menace.

It's AT BEST "my enemy's enemy is my friend." And that's giving her the benefit of a lot of doubt.

I wish any other American politician would say anything even half as good as this

This morning we witnessed an ICE action on our block.

This afternoon I saw this woman standing where it happened.

She was still there this evening.

I took her a bottle of water and asked her if she was standing vigil.

She looked at me with pain on her eyes and said "It's all I can do"

Just a few blocks from here, for various reasons we hadn't been before. Lovely place. Had a De Koninck Bolleke and a Westmalle Dubbel.

Managed to almost forget about the secret police for an evening.

I can't recommend Sophie Lewis' Enemy Feminisms strongly enough.

Feminism has always had a reactionary wing.

Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid

I'm presenting at a conference next month. I'm trying to imagine the reaction if I asked for money.
