I donated some copies of Let This Radicalize You for distribution at an ICE watch training for folks who want to join school patrols in a nearby neighborhood. Not everyone got a copy, because 120 people showed up for that training tonight. I am endlessly proud of Chicago.
A display of copies of Let This Radicalize You on a table in front of a sign that reads: "Let This Radicalize You offers stories, strategy and heart for the kind of collective care and resistance we're building together today. It helps us move from reacting to organizing. Showing how ordinary people protect each other, build power, and keep hope alive. Take a copy. Read it. Stay connected."

We’ve been slowly watching the “Magnum P.I.“ series and I am happy to report that Thomas Magnum reads a TMNT comic in the second last episode. #spoileralert

The only “new” ones I own came in a set of silverware, otherwise I have old ones that were either passed down, or from auctions. (were talking the “classic” kind that are curved with the dull tip, right?)

Trying to figure out how to make a “Top Ten Horror Movies“ list, if there are some that were so disturbing you’d never want to see them again, and some you genuinely liked? Same list? 😆

I’m playing catch-up with the ones I painted last year. Just doing little 5x7’s, so there hasn’t been a “group shot”. I painted Sweetums as a Ghostbuster last year. Hadn’t really considered doing a Stay Puft!

A watercolour of Pepé the Prawn, dressed as a Ghostbuster. His mouth is open, he appears startled and is looking up while blasting an unseen ghost up above.

Well, there you go! That’ll be a fun surprise!

My husband has it on blu-ray. We met when he was in film school and let’s just say he could open his own rental store if he felt inclined 😆
jodyvanb.bsky.social
Ha! My husband was like, “well, now you have to paint a Killbot!” 😆
(I’ll have to tell him that it was the same mall from those other flicks!)
jodyvanb.bsky.social
It really is! Made me nostalgic for my old mall. 😆

I just watched “Chopping Mall” for the first time. Not what I expected. Certainly thought there was going to be an axe in there, or, you know, some ”chopping” happening. Did follow the old horror movie rules of sex=death, though!
