I overheard someone at the record store refer to the new Jared Leto movie as TRONarrhea™ today. 11/10

Another thing GenAI can't replicate is receiving a piece of commissioned art and knowing that another person you've connected with devoted so much of their own time and passion into creating art just for YOU. You'd have to be a deeply lonely self-loathing person to not see any value in that.

To this day no one has been able to convince me that the phrase ANTIFA wasn’t coined by a right wing think tank to make liberal activists sound like a terror group and that liberals walked right into the trap and gave the right the villains it needed for their narrative.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

EXACTLY. $1B for a movie that is by many accounts almost unwatchable. And teens have ALWAYS loved horror. Why is horror doing so well right now? Because it's the one genre that hasn't left teens and 20 somethings behind.

"Using words that sound nice together, that make a simple sentence slightly more complicated, is not what makes writing good."

SAY IT LOUDER. YES!!!

(Related: Almost any person who's ever written professionally would benefit from having spent any amount of time working for a print newspaper.)

Post-original Tron is something I've just never had any interest in messing with. Jared Leto definitely wasn't gonna get me in a seat lol

It was one of the most successful toylines the year it released. Imagine this is overstock that flowed in once the hype died down around time of release. Little kids have short memories.

Celebrating the short-lived Sony/Tristar Era, this new custom Blu-ray case can hold both the G'98 discs (at least 2) and the Godzilla: The Series 4-disc set!

Having the Complete Series DVD Set of AAAHHH! Real Monsters in your house is just a smart use of shelf space.

But if you’re looking for something else, don’t forget that your local library has thousands of other choices on their shelves.

Counting just DVDs and up – not VHS or digital purchases – I have 493 movies and TV shows on physical home video.

I'm not saying you should be where I'm at. But I am arguing you should consider getting closer.

Wife and I are at ~1,000 DVDs and onward, most pictured here. I’ve been a proponent/collector since fifth grade or so. At least a third purchased second-hand. Hope my son can get some appreciation for looking at — and adding to — a limited shelf rather than expecting “limitless” options.
Four shelves stocked with DVDs and Blu-Ray sets, as well as some action figures and VHS tapes.

Love how you phrase it here. I try hard to be a “separate art from the artist” type, but it’s hardest for me with stand-up comedy. Delivery thereof often feels the most rooted in raw, relatable human experiences. If those experiences turn gross, I no longer want any part of sharing in them.

People deciding they don't find you funny anymore isn't censorship. The first amendment doesn't guarantee you laughs or views on streaming or ticket sales. Be defensive or mad about it I guess, but that's not particularly funny either.
