If you're a Jill Stein voter or someone who chose not to vote because "both sides are bad", incidentally? Fuck off. Unfollow me, block me, whatever, but get your filthy interactions away from me.

The fact that Trump was even on the ballot, instead of locked up, was a massive indicator of Biden's utter cowardice. And Harris's refusal to distance herself from that fool showed her to be just as big of a coward.

Democrats need to admit that the status quo, even pre-Trump and Bush, was *shit*. They need to promise actual, meaningful change, even if it upsets donors. Otherwise, even if we somehow do have even remotely fair elections again, they will continue to lose.

People would have voted for a Black woman. Fuck, the excitement I saw when Biden FINALLY dropped out and she and Walz went on a brief offensive gave me hope that I hadn't had since Obama's 2008 campaign. And then her campaign blew all of that momentum trying to peel off "moderate Republicans".

And odds are even the "good" videos were edited by some underpaid worker in a nation with shitty labor laws.

the president using the office to punish americans that didnt vote for him should really be one of the biggest scandals in americas history

Trump is upfront in saying he will use the shutdown to punish Democrats, and here are the receipts. About $27.2 billion cut from Dem districts compared to about $0.7 billion in GOP districts.
We all complain about the media, but need this type of in-depth journalism.

Trump Halts Billions in Grants for Democratic Districts During Shutdown (Gift Article)
The Trump administration has frozen or canceled nearly $28 billion primarily located in Democratic-led districts, according to an analysis by The New York Times.

The Vermont state senator in the Hitler chat group is playing the, "I am but an innocent smol bean" card.

Samuel Douglass hasn't decided yet if he'll resign: www.vermontpublic.org/local-news/2...
“My role in the group chat in question was a procedural one about bylaws and floor strategy. There were often periods of multiple days when I didn't check this group chat and I was unfortunately unaware of those comments,” Douglass said in a written statement sent to Vermont Public Wednesday afternoon. “I should've been more vigilant, more careful, and less naive about who I associate with and my digital environments.”

Mike Johnson called us back from July 4 recess on 7/3 so he could gut Americans’ healthcare in the Big Ugly bill. Since then, he has only had the House in session for 19 of the subsequent 104 days. That’s how we ended up here.

The law doesn't matter if it's selectively enforced. America decided quite some time ago that wealthy, powerful people, ESPECIALLY conservatives, simply don't face consequences 9 times out of 10, and that was BEFORE the most nakedly-corrupt group of neo-Nazis in American history took absolute power.

Obama's biggest failure was that he wasn't enough of a threat to people like Ackman.

Laws are only as good as the people who enforce them, and America in particular has been really, REALLY bad about enforcing the law against those with wealth and power, even before the Nazis took complete control.

It’s perversely funny that he literally talks about “small, mom-and-pop lenders” as if that’s a thing, and that thing is not called loansharking.

Core to playing this down is pretending that "Young Republicans" aren't 40 years old with top positions in both the party and government. One's a state senator.

UPDATE: Following the firing of the director of the student newspaper, Indiana University has now cut the print edition of the newspaper entirely.

Indiana University cuts IDS print entirely, hours after firing student media director
By IDS staff
Oct 15, 2025 1:23 pm · Updated Oct 15, 2025 1:23 pm

IU previously directed the Indiana Daily Student to stop printing news coverage in our newspaper. Upon pushback, the university fully cut print, including our special editions. The IDS was not involved in the decision.

Media School Dean David Tolchinsky sent the order to IDS leadership in an email responding to its appeal that the school not censor the newspaper. And the dean attributed the decision to “the campus.” He has not yet responded to a message for clarification.

very funny that JD Vance has so little to do with his time that he goes on podcasts to defend 30-year-old men for saying how much they love Hitler
atrupar.com
JD Vance dismisses Young Republicans who in a group chat said "I love Hitler" and joked about slavery and rape as "a bunch of kids" who "told stupid jokes" and adds that "most of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager and young adult, they're not on the internet."

and generally do the same "centrist" bullshit that's failed the Democrats time and time again. I voted for her, because I recognized the threat Trump posed, but her political instincts were dogshit.
lemurdreamer87.bsky.social
Nobody's saying Harris was worse. Doesn't change the fact that she ran a bad campaign, though. It was her job to convince people to vote for her, and she apparently thought the way to do that was to attack the left, refuse to acknowledge Biden's failings, campaign with Liz Cheney,

“The Defense Department has confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America,” the Pentagon Press Association said

Oct. 15, 2025
PENTAGON PRESS ASSOCIATION
STATEMENT
Today, the Defense Department confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America. It did this because reporters would not sign onto a new media policy over its implicit threat of criminalizing national security reporting and exposing those who sign it to potential prosecution.
The Pentagon Press Association's members are still committed to reporting on the U.S. military. But make no mistake, today, Oct. 15, 2025 is a dark day for press freedom that raises concerns about a weakening U.S. commitment to transparency in governance, to public accountability at the Pentagon and to free speech for all.

The worst part is the typical reactionary centrist response to this is to blame the left by saying we were crying wolf so now it won't be taken seriously when there's actual nazis in the halls of power.

We tried to warn you! You just didn't want to listen.
