Judge Sara L. Ellis, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, sent a powerful message today:

Today we won a major victory for the First Amendment, and dealt the Trump administration a defeat in its War on Chicago (and civil rights in general). A US District judge issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) reining in federal agents' use of force against protesters, clergy, and the press.

Well, yeah, we're suing ICE.

This wasn't really a hard decision. As little faith as we have in institutions, we recognize the value of drawing visible lines in the sand. We drew ours personally a while ago, but better late than never.

May every protester be freed and may this occupation end.
