Non-evangelical Christian here… white evangelicals *are* Christian. They’re just *heretical* Christians.

Attacks on the federal workforce are also attacks on Black workers, who are overrepresented in the public sector.

Black unemployment is 7.5%. I'm reminded of Coates' observation that Black Americans regularly experience conditions that would be considered a crisis if whites faced them.
Black Unemployment Is Surging Again. This Time Is Different.

"To be a Republican in 2025 represents a clear public confession that you either don't know the difference between good and evil and you're so morally empty that you can't be bothered to begin to try, or that you do know the difference, and you prefer evil." Great essay from @juliusgoat.bsky.social
The Crime of Human Virtue
Sometimes it really is as simple as good vs. evil. This is one of those times. Human virtue is our great crime against the fascist project; it's also our great weapon against it.

Shout out to the Naked Bikeride who today ran hundreds of naked people directly through the line of federal officers and effectively blocked them from assaulting demonstrators. Being naked on a bike goes on the list of effective tactics if you get at least 500 of them and the city loves you.

New levels of hell: just got an email from our local AYSO cancelling today’s youth soccer games because ICE is at the Home Depot across from the soccer fields at James Park in Evanston.

But that’s just common sense! Hamas only does Hamas stuff. Liberals fully endorse Hamas, AND burn down American cities, AND mutilate all the kids we failed to abort in order to make them trans.

The administration is vilifying the local cops in Portland who keep trying to work with them but won't make up statistics or arrest people who aren't breaking the law. The reason there are modest numbers of arrests, Noem suggests, is that the cops are in on it!

Bottom line: we've been too hesitant when getting in good positions in the final third, and KC has been absolutely clinical with their limited chances. Hopefully we learn our lesson if we see them down the road #GothamFC

“‘We want to break down any and every barrier, whether that means getting [kids] to the field by giving them rides, bringing shin guards, bringing donated cleats, kits, and socks,’ said Mariyam Qadirriya Muhammad, coach of #SoccerWithoutBorders’ U14 team.”

There are some things the Trump administration has done that weren't in Project 2025. But the public health stuff was laid out in detail. And they haven't even reached the bad parts yet. I'll never forgive the legacy media, centrists, and moderates who shrugged off concerns about Project 2025.

These guys have gotten incredibly rich by fleecing the government with subpar tech that was designed for rentseeking rather than performance. A smart Dem agenda item would be to build internal tech capacity. The fact that it would punish these guys is just a silver lining.

Daily bunny no.3104 does not have a map
An intrepid bunny creeps through a labyrinth or dungeon, arranged in a grid like an old videogame. There is a snake and a skull in the bunny's path, as well as a spike pit. The bunny has a small sword.

The cover for The Day Before - Yellow police tape across the foggy background hinting at a crime scene. The title is in black on the police tape. There are handcuffs in the foreground. The tagline reads "It's not a murder if there's no body." The cover for The Polar Terror. A brown-skinned man with short cut black hair holds the face of a brown-skinned woman with long, dark hair as he kisses her. In the background are stars and green northern lights. At the bottom are mountains covered in snow. The faint outline of snowflakes are visible on the left and the title is at the bottom. Cover art for Bodies In Motion - it's mostly blue, white, and black, has the profiles of an dark-skinned man and a fair-skinned woman floating above a rocky terrain. The cover art for All I Want For Christmas Is A Cryptid - a cartoon of a woman with dark red-brown hair wearing a straw sunhat, a blueberry purple shirt, a brick brown sleeveless dress, with black leggings and black shoes stands on a wooden bridge with a green field and brown, snow-capped mountains behind her. The background color is green and the title is written in white with the word Cryptid in pink.

Guillermo del Toro and Netflix have announced plans to form a new stop motion studio that will be both a studio and a school to push the medium forward and will develop plans to make Del Toro's next stop motion project after Pinocchio. I'm very hyped to see what this leads to!

This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

Portland is leading the way. This is how you (non violently) beat Fascism. Humor and ridicule are key.

“I think all theories are suspect, that the finest principles may have to be modified, or may even be pulverized by the demands of life, and that one must find, therefore, one's own moral center and move through the world hoping that this center will guide one aright.”

How to be an informed, pro-library, anti-book ban voter in upcoming fall elections (if you have them) and well into the future.

Don't just celebrate banned books. Don't just read banned books. VOTE to support the democratic institutions creating access to them.
