My wife is collecting signatures for a sweet ballot measure in Michigan that would tax income over $1,000,000 to reduce class sizes while recruiting and retaining great teachers.

The trouble with representative democracy is that we deposit all the levers of power in governing institutions, so when those institutions conspire against us, we have only indirect leverage to effect change. Resistance is proper, but has no direct enforcement mechanism. Resist nonetheless.

So . . . the American Farm Bureau usually does not endorse presidential candidates, but the state bureaus do. Did bureaus from states with high numbers of bankruptcies in Trump 1 endorse Trump for round 2?
