Shockingly, turns out he has kinda apologized for things, regretted the way he acted, wrote on his website in 2018 that he didn't know how to handle some severe depression, or wrestling with his identity of being bi that he didn't yet understand, etc. Which, good on him, but he left an awful legacy.

I tried to watch Yuichi Fukuda's adaptation of the manga/anime Under Ninja earlier this year (it was supposed to have a Hollywood premiere) but those LA fires happened and it got canceled. I finally saw it tonight, and it's another pretty decent film from my favorite comedy director.
