I don’t know who needs to hear this but you should try — within reason — to make personal choices that are better for society, even knowing that personal choices are not sufficient for addressing large systemic issues. Just be normal about it.

FULL STORY HERE: Emails began flooding CDC inboxes late Friday night announcing dozens of layoffs. HR people brought back from furlough to oversee the RIFs. Disease detectives, entire Washington office, global health, injury prevention, MMWR staff among those hit.

I use my own feed instead of Following, and it does a bit of pure “Following” (easy) before a filtered view (not easy). I implemented settings for my feed on a separate website but ideally the kind of customization that Following has in-app wouldn’t be special but would be possible for any feed

Things that are cash grabs: Ford selling 99 year lease of public park (Ontario Place) to private company; successive governments taking taxpayer money earmarked for health and education and giving it to private companies. Things that are not cash grabs: fines for breaking the law.
