If it pops up when you hover your mouse cursor over it, that's not alt text. That's title text or a popover or hover text. (Depends on the technique used.)

None of those things are alt text and some of them aren't even available to screen reader users.

Part of the idea that alt text needs to be entertaining/funny comes from people confusing alt text with title text which is a completely different thing but is sometimes called alt text by people who are misusing the term.

STAY in line if you’re special voting, if you get in line before 12 noon, the elections team need to let you vote. Every other box will be sealed shut at 12.

So you’ve got 20 minutes to get to a library or Woolworths or Warehouse to drop your vote in.

And, to be clear, both proposals worry me:
1. legislating police power to take photographs
2. allowing police to close areas due to antisocial behaviour or risks to public safety etc.
The latter is extraordinarily worrying discretionary power.

Restoring rights?
Police never had this right in the first place. Hence the court decision.

I do little things to help foster connection.

Support communities that I don't always feel a part of. Not excluded, just not in.

Having those communities be strong makes things better whether the community directly helps me or not, it indirectly does.

- sharing anti-fascist content
- encouraging folk to take care of themselves
- caring for folk
- adding access e.g. alt text to images shared
- asking for advice

All of this is examples of pushing back on fascism
