It’s insane that the Mayor of NYC will have potentially more media criticism, more public attention, more government pushback, than the PRESIDENT OF THE ENTIRE NATION,
And be expected to both accept and manage that responsibility.
The full weight of western capitalism is about to laser focus on NYC. The robber barons failed to win and will panic. They will sabotage NYC because the system cannot allow Mamdani's term to be successful. They cannot allow people to believe things can be better. Your job now is to hold the line.

It kind of gives the game away when you go from "Mamdani will destroy NYC, I will be forced to leave, he'll make everyone speak Arabic, he will impose sharia law, he will imprison every billionaire, it will no longer be safe!!!!!" to "Congrats, let me know how I can help"

Zohran Mamdani polled +40% on men under 30. So we wasted all that time on all those think pieces about how we need a Joe Rogan for the left, when what we actually needed were *policies* for the left.

It is officially time for the Democratic Party to stop wasting money on their out of touch consultant class, and start paying for insights from Bluesky posters named "<--- kill me" and "Kicked In The Farm Parts"

The difference between Trump the candidate and Trump the POTUS is it wasn’t obvious that Stephen Miller was making the candidate’s decisions.

A year ago today, we had a really terrible election night, and because I know how people fall into despair I sat down at 11pm and wondered what I could tell you. I told you:

Think about how the left told Biden, and then Kamala, that their campaign would 100% lose if they did the exact opposite of what Mamdani's would be.

They literally plugged their ears and said shut the fuck up, and then she lost by doing the exact opposite, in every way on every issue, of Mamdani.

This election suggests something interesting: the massive local GOP losses says the bad Democratic Party brand is salvageable, *if* the Third Way-style accommodationists are boxed out of leadership. Voters want to fight Trump and will support a pretty wide range of candidates to do it.

At this point, anyone—a university, a law firm, a corporation, a Democrat—bending the knee to Trump is doing it because they want to, not because of any political reality.

I don't understand the mentality of wannabe trillionaires. What happens when they've won? When they HAVE all the money, and everyone else has nothing, and the economy has collapsed because nobody can buy or sell anything anymore? Then what?

Absolutely. What Mamdani is about is a society where solidarity is a value. That's best for everyone - a sound society where all have a chance to live decently as a minimum is a functional society and everyone does well - even capitalists.

From bitter experience, capitalism will cheat, bribe, set traps, and flood the zone with stories of 'ordinary people's dissatisfaction'. This win is a beautiful and hopeful thing and the energy that drove it must be kept up now. He'll need your support even more now. Hold the line.

He'll make mistakes and be imperfect but when it's sabotage, name it loudly. Don't let people forget who is really screwing them. The robber barons can't abide hope. So hope. Remember what tonight feels like and keep it alight. Keep showing up when they screw with buses and zoning. Hold the line.

The voters have spoken, not sure what good a lawsuit will do. California Republicans filed a lawsuit this morning challenging the new congressional map that takes effect following the approval of Proposition 50.

New Mexico's universal free childcare (so Elizabeth Warren!), Colorado's free lunch, Mamdani's free buses: something good is happening. (And don't anyone get riled up but maybe it's happening incrementally?)

p.s. Some (but not all) free community colleges in California.

Mamdani: "My message to ICE agents & to everyone across this city is that everyone will be held to the same standard of the law. If you violate it, you must be held accountable. There is sadly a sense growing that certain people are allowed to violate that law, whether they be POTUS or ICE agents."

If at least 26 billionaires can waste at least $27 million trying to defeat Zohran Mamdani, then those same billionaires can afford to pay an extra 2% on their income over $1 million to make New York a better, thriving city for everyone — including themselves.
