So brilliant to see odious Matt Goodwin having his arse handed to him by the excellent people of Bradford!

#bbcqt
Absolutely. Must be an awful worry for him.

Question Time seem to have mistakenly called Matthew Goodwin an academic instead of a 'GB News Gobshite'.

But Gove said all contracts were handled by civil servants. Surely you're not telling us he lied?
Michael Gove personally intervened to ensure that a Conservative donor's firm was awarded a multimillion pound covid contract.

Private correspondence reveals that Ciga Healthcare’s Brexit-supporting owner had pushed Gove to “take control” of the process.

The contract was awarded just days later

The people of Wales chose hope over hate and Reform got rejected. Britain is a nation of people at ease with itself - all races and religions, our Giga Poll showed that. There’s a lesson for Labour here…we don’t have to be Reform to beat Reform. The public wants better.

Not sure why this was kind of buried in the Guardian story

Kent leader Kemkaran "failed to ensure that her register of interests listed the fact that her husband is the director of digital transformation at East Kent’s health authority"

It's a criminal offence to knowingly omit relevant interests.
Factionalism, farce and chaos dog Reform UK in the garden of England

But my first thought was does the seller, the poor Duke of Northumberland, really need to put it on market at that price? Maybe knock 10 million off and the public might be more inclined to help.

The top three things Jesus was on about were feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and welcoming the stranger. Rich men have convinced so-called Christians to starve the hungry, gut health care, and deport the stranger to enrich themselves. It’s astoundingly anti-Christ.

150,000 aged 90 and above wait 12 hours in England’s A&Es each year.

Older people left in excrement, wet beds, denied pain relief, forced to watch/hear other patients die.

NHS money pilfered by PFI and privatisation

But ... Govts have fiscal rules and don't want to tax the rich.

So why does the BBC label the academic and economist Faiza Shaheen an "activist" but refuse to do the same for the former academic, turned anti-migrant activist Matt Goodwin?

Superb piece by @jamesbloodworth.bsky.social in this month's @bylinetimes.bsky.social mag: "Britain's Media Has Let Nigel Farage Reshape Political Journalism - Why?" This article alone was worth my annual sub to one of the very few news outlets still doing proper journalism

Sarah Pochin has apologised for saying what she thinks.

But not for thinking what she said.

First they burned the planet for profit, then they bought the media to rewrite the story. That’s capitalism’s real circle of life.

Controversial, but does anyone else wonder was the accidental release of the asylum seeker really an accident?
It’s working so well for a certain party.
Her kids are a lot politer than mine if they were to hear her spouting that racist twaddle.

Beth Rigby: "Keir Starmer has changed his top team more than I've had hot dinners."

In two years before Starmer we had 3 PMs, 4 Chancellors, 3 Foreign Secretaries, 5 Home Secretaries, 5 Education Secretaries, 5 Cabinet Secretaries, etc. - total 221 ministerial departures.

Maybe Beth is on a diet.

So Reform didn't win in Wales.

In fact it wasn't even close in the end.

Turn out was just over 50%. More than most council elections.

Suggests there is definitely a ceiling to Reform support, but their supporters are motivated to vote.

But if enough people turn out they can be defeated anywhere!
