Superb piece by @jamesbloodworth.bsky.social in this month's @bylinetimes.bsky.social mag: "Britain's Media Has Let Nigel Farage Reshape Political Journalism - Why?" This article alone was worth my annual sub to one of the very few news outlets still doing proper journalism
Snippet of Byline Times, November 2025, pointing out how the British mainstream media has created a "perfect circle of self-perpetuating hype" around Nigel Farage, i.e. how his prominence in MSM feeds his popularity which in turn justifies further coverage, and so on. Author proposes that this is a predictable consequence of an industry that has restructured itself around virality.

She was last seen in Cork airport on Sunday the 12th of October. The last time we heard from her was on Sunday morning the 19th of October. We have been unable to contact her since. We do not know whether she is in Ireland, Spain or elsewhere. If anyone has had contact with her or seen her since this date can you please get in touch. We are worried for her safety and welfare.

So Reform didn't win in Wales.

In fact it wasn't even close in the end.

Turn out was just over 50%. More than most council elections.

Suggests there is definitely a ceiling to Reform support, but their supporters are motivated to vote.

But if enough people turn out they can be defeated anywhere!

Awful medical disinformation on BBC Morning Live this morning: infectious diseases are not avoided by sleep and diet. Covid is not the same as a cold and it is still killing people both in the acute stage but significantly in the long term alongside massive harm. What is going on?

So it's now 5 who recognise the experience and commitment of Jess Phillips, verses 5 who wants her out - a group which includes at least 1 which is working with Reform.

This is now nothing more than Reform trying to destroy the inquiry and undermine the Labour government.
