I found a 19th century Cat Villain!

A huge chonk of a fluffy cat sitting on a table near an open fire. The cat is cream and grey and appears to be shaped like a barrel in a fur coat. They are scowling fiercely with their moustache and bewhiskered ears apparently flowing back into the cold wind. There's a definite vibe that this villainous cat twirls their moustache as they evict orphans into the aforementioned blizzard and think Scrooge was an easy-going lightweight. They are magnificent.

I bang on about this a lot: I think the combination of a global pandemic, underregulated internet/SM, collapse/corruption of trustworthy media, plus now unregulated genAI, is a wildly toxic environment for radicalisation & mental health. We see the results of that in our politics & lives every day

Everyone knows at least one person (normally, but not exclusively, a guy) whose gone properly mental due to net rabbit holes.

We see public figures regularly go mad and destroy themselves.

And we have, at a policy level, just decided to put our fingers in our ears and go nahnahnah

What I mean is that women used to iron EVERYTHING, like my Nan’s generation, but most of them didn’t also work. I don’t think it’s that we’ve got more slovenly and less house proud I think it’s that we’re now stretched too thin

Now I think about it, if you’re ironing for a family you either need to not work full time OR pay someone else to do it. I don’t have the luxury of either, so it just won’t get done.

Most clothes sort themselves out whilst on my body in car on the way to work and I couldn’t care less about creased bed sheets! Genuinely don’t have time to iron so I just don’t (unless absolutely necessary)
