with these policies. All of these policies make costs & prices skyrocket. He campaigned on higher costs of doing business and higher consumer prices on virtually all goods. And he is delivering on it as advertised.
He campaigned on creating a massive labor shortage, massive tariffs (200-300 percent was cited multiple times) and in some cases full bans on foreign imports meaning some goods would only be available on the black market. Agriculture & food packing being among the hardest hit sectors 1/2
Yeah, I’ve thought of this phenomenon like a couple that tries a threesome or swinging & learn they don’t actually like it, it was better as a fantasy than reality.
I observed a very different campaign that what you describe.
There’s something to that I’m sure. But many of his surrogates also promoted several of these same ideas he did. I think what you’re saying is applicable in some instances though.
I’m not totally sure I’m understanding your comment correctly—Are you suggesting that I debate you tubers?
Exactly. Like I said, delivering on campaign promises. I don’t know that he ever said he would cancel insulin cap in exact terms but it was to be expected in the broad scale pillaging of consumers. The other things you listed are things he said he’d do if elected. So I don’t understand the decline 🤔

Let the Trump admin argue in court the legal technicalities on why people should starve. Great optics for them.

Quite a world when a federal judge has to call in a federal official to specifically tell him he can't use tear gas on children in Halloween costumes
Every poll showing declining approval makes me perplexed all over again. Why is it declining? He is only doing exactly what he said he’d do if elected. Shouldn’t approval at least be steady if not improving? He’s delivering on campaign promises better & faster than anyone, ever. I don’t get it.

"Not sure" remains the polling safe harbor for Republicans who know that Trump did a bad thing but don't want to admit it.

This week, a consistent 30-37% "not sure" on Trump's grants of clemency to Santos and Zhao, but they feel strongly he shouldn't pardon Diddy or Maxwell (until he does).

if you think the problem is that the democratic party is too extreme rather than our current media environment privileges right wing bull shit then you have no real business discussing politics in public
Right, and “those of us on the ground” who actually know people & interact w people every day knew this a long time ago.

More than half of this country falls somewhere between deranged conspiracist and “out to lunch” or “not playing w a full deck” on The Big Spectrum of Uniquely American Dumb.

The actual finding here is that a huge percentage of the population believes things that are not true. Democrats objectively did not spend significant time on climate change or LGBTQ issues in the last election campaign.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇
I think he’s just relevance seeking.

The pro fascist media market is already saturated. He has staked a position as an anti fascist + anti democrat (which is inherently anti democracy at present time) media personality. It’s dishonest & i don’t admire it, but it makes sense as a livelihood.
Exactly.

GOP: run frothing mouths nonstop abt trans ppl•coal•Christians•yng women, college kids• immigrants•cracker barrel•hair dye•bicycles•subways•celebrities. Obsessed & making absurd law abt minority issues/groups.

Average Voter: dems are out of touch & only talk about niche things/groups.

Democrats literally LOWERED THE RATE OF CRIME

And democrats both proposed & passed all kinds of legislation to serve regular, average people.

It was never facts don’t care about your feelings, it was always your feelings don’t care about facts.

SCOOP --> Major new Bidenworld autopsy just dropped: 45 former Biden officials candidly assess their mistakes and failings in new Roosevelt Institute report. They lay out the beginnings of a Project 2029 agenda to reverse authoritarian tide.

He means lawlessness. State sanctioned rape, torture, targeting of civilian infrastructure, using human shields, etc., is what he means by not being a politically correct military anymore.
Trump to troops in Japan: "Unlike past administrations, we will not be politically correct. You don't mind that, do you? When it comes to defending the US we're no longer politically correct. We're gonna defend our country any way we have to and that's usually not the politically correct way"
He means lawlessness. State sanctioned rape, torture, targeting of civilian infrastructure, using human shields, etc., is what he means by not being politically correct as a military anymore.
So they all think disparaging, disrespecting & putting a target on members of the press—essentially the physical embodiment of the FIRST amendment to the constitution which is the sole purpose of theirs to protect is funny. Cool cool.

I would expect to see far more usage of private security & "deputized" groups (whether formally or not) to engage in policing, intimidation, & coercion in the US. The gaslight-y, obfuscatory "we don't know who hired them" line is classic authoritarian strategy. Just google "shabiha" or "baltagiya."
For those following the story of unidentified men violently dragging a protester from a local Idaho GOP meeting, it turns out they were from a private security firm called LEAR Asset Management. But neither the sheriff (who watched it all go down) or the GOP will take responsibility for hiring them.
