People who want to minimize the popularity of Zohran’s proposals like to say his success is all in the social media/video game but I guarantee that stuff is made better by people actually getting to make content around issues they really care about

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

NEW: @CDCgov hit hard by massive firings that several staff describe to me as a “bloodbath.”
Among those RIFd:
—leadership of the center for immunization and respiratory diseases;
—leadership of global health center
—leadership of the measles outbreak response; 1/4

George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.

"They put me on suicide watch and they put me in the cell, I'm naked, in like a hospital dress and just a concrete bed with like a mattress, like a thin mattress and, they leave the light on 24/7."

@timmiller.bsky.social talked to a veteran who ICE wrongly detained and brutalized

Hey big biz—worth fighting this as your voice still carries weight with this regime and absent any cyber security really have no other kind of security at all this era.

As if any more evidence was needed that the regime was not protecting us nor working for America but rather the opposite.

I don't know if there's such a thing as a "world cyberwar" but I think we are in one? and the US is determined to lose it. 🧵

Today the admin is mass-firing the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the nation's cybersecurity protection across all levels of government.

Who are these ICE agents? Who are these masked federal agents acting like the dictator’s cruel, lawless thugs? No really, who are they? We took a deep dive. Have a read.👇 open.substack.com/pub/socialco...
Who Is ICE?
That’s the problem—we don’t know.

Night trolleybus vibes 🚎✨
The interior of a King County Metro XT60 at night, with a completely empty rear section. The trolley is well lit but not overwhelming and the yellow steps on the high floor section stand out in sharp relief

Despite an 18-day service shutdown during the strike, VTA still saw higher overall bus ridership in FY25 than in FY24.

This speaks to how much our riders value the service and perhaps it also speaks to why it’s still important to encourage ridership even when you're frustrated.

Now, push it to the next step - if the cops see people shoving other people into vehicles and there's no ID showing, the cops should step in and stop it.

I think that trolleybuses are a better investment and we are uniquely positioned to fix the domestic supply chain for them.

The First Hill line would have been *much* better off as a RapidRide and the SLU line is...useless for almost everyone.

But if we're gonna do streetcars, we do them right.
