For every one actual hateful, frothing nazi there’s a half dozen unengaged people who find the conflict disruptive and annoying and will dig their heels in on opposing activists they find embarrassing, rather than raise a finger against actual fascists. It’s the mortar that holds up the bricks.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Films have to be Satoshi Kon’s whole body of work (Perfect Blue my baby), Ghibli ofc but especially Takahata’s stuff. 2001. Brazil. LOTS of horror - Jacob’s Ladder. The Fly. Videodrome. David Lynch, broadly speaking. Gattaca. Paris, Texas. I’m SURELY forgetting a lot more that will hit me later

This is hard actually….impact and inspirations are so organic and as artists we are the result of SO many other artists. But off the top of my head, I think some of the GREATEST impact for comics have got to be Mitsukazu Mihara (Doll remains maybe my favorite comic), Nausicaa, & everything Urasawa

I had a lot of convos with people who said they were sympathetic, but Defund the Police was a "bad slogan". I told them it wasn't a slogan. It was an answer. It was an answer to the constant question "what can we do to actually lower crime and make our neighborhood's safer?"

#dogsofbluesky there's a new #foster #rescue in my pack! meet scrappy, who was brought to ACC as a sick & emaciated stray with broken ribs and wounds on his back legs. he's healing up and is a sweetie, but was struggling in the shelter enough to wind up on the euth list.

can you help me help him? 🧵

scrappy is a small terrier mix with wiry black fur, white chin, and big brown eyes. he's just hopped up on my bed to hang out after some playtime with his foster siblings. he's relaxed and smiling happily, tongue out and ears up. there's a slight motion blur on his head bc he is a wiggleworm.

the foot of the bed in a blanket nest seems to be scrappy's chosen spot for naptime! he's nestled into my weighted blanket but looked up at me when i called him. his ears are perked and flopping adorably.
