Not every story involves gestation! Plus, giving birth is exactly the sort of thing that happens to other people.

Its certainly not something I was/am going to sign up for. Gestation is difficult, birthing is disgusting, and then you have to -raise- a child for 20+ years.

No thanks.

I just bought a small clear door drinks fridge, and I am profoundly happy that wifi has not entered the $200 refrigerator market

Looking at news, and just as I hope in any tragedy that the shooter was white? I hope the thing that is eventually gonna happen?

Happens on American soil.

Not something you want to happen on a road trip.

Of course this is right there with knotting/being knotted really representing a chance to feel warm and cozy and get some uninterrupted reading done.

Can you finish Winds of Winter in a single heat?

(That book being finished is as likely as my waking up an alpha)

Omega heats: a couple of days of pure supreme sexual bliss.

Then you get on with your life and what you were doing for a couple months.

It's a compelling argument

I remember a comedian once saying, "At least when we legalize weed stoners will have to talk about something else" and experience has not proven that to be true.

A great deal of the weirdness of the Omegaverse, in particular the early omegaverse variants can be understood once you know that it was invented by the horniest asexuals on the planet.

What if horny people who weren't into having sex with other people invented a sex trope? a/b/o it is

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

The amazing thing about the SNL sketch last night was not that Ashley Padilla wore a scarf nearly identical to mine.  It’s that I trust Amy Poehler as AG more than Pam Bondi.

A little known fact is that, when confronted with an ICE agent, the North American Protest Frog can inflate to up to 100x its normal size to frighten off predators.

You should also try changing your stance to appear bigger and hanging your food in bags high enough off the ground that they can't reach.

Occasionally you need a personal care product and all the sources are bad. CVS, Walmart, Target.

Went to Walmart. Where a huge percentage of care and tending to a uterus products are locked up.

Requiring a long wait and an interaction with staff.

Fuck it. Amazon delivers.

DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SMURF
ligerlillie.bsky.social
Papa Smurf wears a Phrygian cap, most often associated with the French Revolution, indicating Smurf Village had a monarchy it has since overthrown. This makes Papa Smurf, de facto head of state post-revolution, akin to Robespierre. In this essay I will —
An image of Papa Smurf, a small blue man with a white beard. He’s wearing red trousers that lead into shoes and a red cap that slouches forward.

Nothing is more important to establishing true freedom in the United States than reducing Peter Thiel’s influence down to his vote
sharonk.bsky.social
thiel, man, what the fuck are you talking about

He describes the plot of Watchmen, a 1986 graphic novel involving superheroes grappling with moral questions about humanity against the backdrop of impending nuclear war:

The antihero Ozymandias, the antichrist-type figure, is sort of an early-modern person. He believes this will be a timeless and eternal solution – eternal world peace. Moore is sort of a late-modern. In early modernity, you have ideal solutions, ‘perfect’ solutions to calculus. In late modernity, things are sort of probabilistic. And at some point, he asks Dr Manhattan whether the world government is going to last. And he says that ‘nothing lasts forever.’ So you embrace the antichrist and it still doesn’t work.

Thiel later finds biblical meaning in the manga One Piece, discussing how he believes it represents a future where an antichrist-like one-world government has repressed science. He believes that the hero, Monkey D Luffy, represents a Christlike figure.

In One Piece, you are set in a fantasy world, again sort of an alternate earth, but it’s 800 years into the reign of this one-world state. Which, as the story unfolds, gradually gets darker and darker. You sort of realize, in my interpretation, who runs the world and it’s something like the antichrist. There’s Luffy, a pirate who wears a red straw hat, sort of like Christ’s crown of thorns. And then towards the end of the story, transforms into a figure who resembles Christ in Revelation.

Thiel, along with a researcher and writer at Thiel Capital, explored these ideas at greater length in an essay for the religious journal First Things earlier this month.

yeah so now they extremely literally produced a scene in which ICE refuses to let literal jesus' literal holy presence into their facility. i cannot emphasize enough how non-metaphoric the RCC is about this.

For any Catholic, the sight of a Eucharistic Procession being turned away at the gates of the destination is the embodiment of Jesus being denied entrance. You don't have to be Catholic to get the symbolism in that!

Current Republicans' great-grandchildren will deny they were "really" Republicans. They just joined the party to get a job, or because their parents were Republicans, etc.

Guess how I know this now.

Let’s not forget that every single Republican who stands by and enables Donald Trump could stop this recklessness today, tomorrow or any damn day of the week. Their failure—their refusal—to do so makes them complicit in his crimes and the crimes of his corrupt, lawless regime.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

Yup.

Or you know, just dying. That happens.

Plus a permanent underclass of kids who aren't gonna die without special education but also aren't going to graduate high school
norabombay.bsky.social
Unfunded special education would leave them homebound and just.

Jesus fucking christ people.
norabombay.bsky.social
No church, no school, no private organization can replace special education funding.

For every "mild" learning disability or ADHD who would have been left to flounder in the 70s, there is a profoundly disabled child who needs supports and care to be given a chance to succeed.
