to be clear (no one cares i realize) i think this is just a *bad way* to approach criticism, one that both Really Cares about the director's (racist, horny) intent and Doesn't Care about the special, abstract things that cinema is uniquely capable of. i hate it. it's so literal and confining.

Yeah, I think that it's really the bigger problem here that he was working for a Trumpist organization *during his first term* than Mills being in her 70s. And seeing the 'we iz real anti-fascist' Left deciding MAGA mercenary isn't a dealbreaker is yet another mark against them, too.
