edit: turns out the guy in the story is a nasty horrible racist prick. Naturally the BBC did not feel this was important to disclose. But it absolutely is, he is not just "some guy" he's a racist media figure.

If you don’t delete an AI video after multiple people have pointed out to you that it is, honestly, fuck you. You are spreading misinformation at best, and at worst, contributing to the deterioration of our shared reality.

Think about how for decades, one of the ingredients of a crackpot was: retired engineer.

Retired engineers, for *generations* have been a fertile ground for crackpot theories in everything.

They get that golden watch and bam, incoherent manifesto about quantum archeology inbound.

Today my daughter's preschool is holding a farewell assembly for one of her classmates whose mother has no choice but to self deport. The school is hoping it will be joyful in tone, so we might make this less upsetting for this 3 year old.

There's just no words for the uselessness of this cruelty.
