Today’s solo RPG: Princess with a Cursed Sword. A journaling game, just one page long but with exactly the right amount of solidity and flavour to make a satisfying meal. This metaphor got away from me. It’s really good and you should play it.

It's genuinely the worst run of the whole series.

Azzarello may have dropped the N-word 12 times during his run (I counted), but at least he had a direction.

The Milligan run is just flailing, start to finish.

I read the entire Constantine corpus last year and the Jenkins run is mediocre-to-poor with occasional highlights.

So it’s far better than Azzarello or Milligan. Not a patch on Delano, Ennis or Carey.

Today's solo RPG is Time to Kill, in which a hitman plans and reminisces while waiting for a target. It's okay - solid prompts and a card tableau that shapes their interpretation a little - but there's nothing exceptional about it. A decent outing for journaling fans.

— only buy tech too old to have AI built in
— painstakingly disable AI every time they add it to something that used to work perfectly well
— if it can't be switched off, abandon the platform or tool
— if there are no good alternatives, avoid the AI parts
— patiently wait for the crash
