On the topic of organizing in groups, here's a really great summary of what to watch out for. ANY kind of group can become a high control group, and it's on a spectrum. They're not all Jonestown . But if your group has multiple of these traits, it's probably toxic.

It is a really healthy and rewarding thing to be part of a movement for positive change and progress, and to be part of a community which encourages moral and spiritual growth. It can do wonders fo…

Can you see why your claims of not having prejudice against Israel ring hollow?

I'm not. I love America much more than you do.

He doesn't really write these troll posts, he hired a lady with comedy writing skills to do them. It's just to troll Trump and show how ridiculous he sounds.

This may sound crazy but I've always thought they seized on this term--which so obviously, when you understand it, makes _them_ the bad guys--because it sounds like a foreign word, maybe something from Spanish or (gasp) Arabic, & they can trick low-info ppl into thinking it's like "Hamas" or "Isis."

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Can confirm the "some of their base have no idea what antifa means" thing, btw, from a convo with a concerned family member.

Me: "It's not an organization. It just means anti-fascist. Anyone who opposes nazis is antifa. If you oppose nazis, and I know you do, YOU are antifa."

He was stunned.

Uh you think so?
And the indicting GJ never heard her testimony.

“Ms. Thompson’s testimony that she has lived in the house rent-free —Ms. James pays even for basic upkeep, — cd make it difficult for prosecutors to convince a jury that the house was meant to be used as a rental investment property.”

Their goal is revenge against every scientist who told them something they didn't want to hear or made them feel inferior by knowing more than they do.

WTF is their goal? Small government means every man for themselves when the next catastrophe hits? What is the point? Government isn’t a business, it’s a service for the people. You’re saving minimal money with these cuts and only hurting literally everyone

It's wild that we've reached a point where the President openly admits to firing people for political reasons, and his OMB director tweets about it like it's a victory. This is page one of the authoritarian playbook, happening in plain sight.

Donald’s advisor contacts him again after he lost the Nobel Peace prize to Maria Corina Machado for her tieless efforts to promote democracy. Meanwhile, Donald is fuming: “I’ve been promoting democracy too!” Sure Donald, the evidence is clear! 😉

SUNDAY HISTORY LESSON: Republicans steal elections. Example: Florida and Bush, sounds sexier than hanging chads and Al Gore. Al Gore won, the Supreme Court decided Bush won, so yeah; Republicans will steal a presidential election in A New York minute; but usually in Florida. Their favorite state.

Sure as hell looks like they hid exculpatory evidence from a grand jury to secure an indictment. If Dems aren’t weekly introducing impeachment resolutions for these folks, man idk what.

NYT reports that Letitia James’s great niece lives in the home that is the subject of the indictment.

The niece reportedly testified before a *different* grand jury, telling them that she had lived there for many years without paying rent. James visits regularly.

But in June, IMs. Thompson testified to a grand
jury in Norfolk that she had lived in the house for years and that she did not pay rent, a person familiar with her testimony said. She was not asked to testify again, and the grand jury that voted to indict Ms. James was not seated in Norfolk, but in Alexandria.
The specter of Mr. Trump's revenge campaign has so far overshadowed the facts of the case, given how he has pushed for Ms. James's punishment. For years, he has railed against her on social media, calling her a "crook" and

OK but that was not true, she wasn't charging rent. Part of her family lived in her second home, which she visited regularly. She wasn't making money from it, just her and her family living in it.

Because they've needed refuge a lot, historically, all over the world. As a small group with recognizable cultural practices that differ from the majority, they were always the scapegoats. Then you guys come along going "Well actually, they're just whites from Poland, cosplaying an ancient culture."

Israel is a refuge state for a vulnerable ethnic group that was almost wiped out, but that doesn't make it an "ethnostate." 20% of Israel's population is not Jewish. Any Jewish person who needs refuge, or just wants to live somewhere the government will never turn on them, can take refuge there.

Hamas started the war by ordering its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, 30,000 strong, to invade Israel, hoping that their allies would join forces with them and they would finally flood into the heart of Israel and destroy it. Israelis of Palestinian Arab descent aren't being slaughtered.
