A refresher introduction for new followers or people going, "Now why do I follow this person again?":

Hey, y'all, I'm an editor with a specialty in comics and graphic novels. I spent ten years in the Bat-Cave and have done all kinds of cool things since then.

Fun fact: live scorpions may be sent through the USPS for medical research and antivenom production purposes, but they must be contained in a puncture proof box labeled “live scorpions” inside another box labeled “live scorpions.”

During the '17 Women's March, I tweeted "I marched today for women because when I needed them most to, women marched for me." Gay rights, feminism, abortion, anti-war, pro-education, conservation, clean water, against drunk driving, etc. Women have always been at the forefront of resistance & change

I think it's kind of nasty and reductive to refer to mature women who marched today as "wine moms and grandmas," even when it's said in admiration or support

I hear from informed sources that these #NoKings rallies are more than twice as big as last time, making them easily the largest protests in US history. Thanks to everyone and especially organizers.

MSNBC Grandmas in Skechers seamlessly reclaiming the frog from 4chan Nazis in about six weeks has gotta be the political upset of the century.

folks can complain about the effectiveness of scheduled orderly mass protest but to think about it another way its the closest thing we have to the opening scene of A Muppet Christmas Carol where all the muppets sing "there goes Mr. Dipshit, there goes Mr. Ass" to Scrooge and it clearly bothered him

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important

Toni Morrison was raising children & working as an editor in the civil rights movement, she said what can I do from where I am & the time I have, she decided editing important Black work was her contribution to the struggle.

Wanna to go to a virtual No Kings rally that focuses on healthcare (with a side of "vaccines are good, actually" and "eugenics is bad, actually")?

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

One thing I always hear from heroism experts is that doing small courageous things equips us to do big ones later on.
My mother-in-law was nervous about wearing her #NoKings gear to the airport for her flight this morning, but she got *lots* of compliments. Even the TSA agent told her, "I like your shirt."

I saw a tragically AI-generated version of this poster, so I have recreated a 100% human-made version for all your protest sign needs.
Shout-out to @comicscovers.bsky.social for posting this cover recently.

Since this article is making the rounds again, I guess this is a good moment as any to plug my book (despite me feeling super weird about self promotion), as I describe these dynamics in (some would argue) excruciating detail.
Bought myself a ticket to see Jon Bernthal in Dog Day Afternoon next March. I'm sure theater purists are unhappy with all the recent stunt castings, but honestly, Jon Bernthal as the spiritual heir of Al Pacino feels absolutely correct.

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV is set to effectively disband Opus Dei in the coming weeks.

This would be the most sweeping internal reform of his pontificate — and a dramatic continuation of Pope Francis’s legacy.
NEW: Pope Leo Set To Break Up Opus Dei
If Pope Leo does indeed approves a plan that effectively dissolves Opus Dei’s structure, it would be the most significant internal action of his short pontificate to date.

I have been hoping that RFK Sr. haunts his son every Christmas for what he's doing to this country, and I wouldn't mind if this year JFK tagged along and told Jr. here to keep his name out of his bonkers mouth. Hell, get Joseph Kennedy to haunt him too. He's destroying the Kennedy name, Joe!
RFK Jr: "When my uncle was president, the fertility rate in this country was 3.5%. Today it is 1.6%. The replacement rate -- in other words the amount of fertility you need to keep your population even -- is 2.1%. We are below replacement. That is a national security threat to our country."
