This is how it feels every day living that proship life online
A four panel comic
1st panel: 2 ppl are asking a smaller person "Hi, what is your opinion on fiction?"
The smaller person is wearing two emojis on their chest or a rainbow and a cut of meat.
2nd panel: The smaller person says "I'm proship!"
3rd panel: The two people stare with dubious expressions while images are faded out behind them showing their assumptions. The images are various things like the Sickos Laughing meme, an image of red flags, the word DANGER, the words Problematic over a brain, and various stock images showing criminals, abuse, and incest.
4th panel: the smaller person gazes off, while the images of what they meant float behind them. The images are of free speech, and anti-bullying, as well as a lot of muting, blocking, and other curating tools and filters on twitter and AO3.

JESSE PINKMAN CANONICALLY OWNS A MASSIVE PINK BUTT PLUG
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
An image from Breaking Bad S04e02 - Thirty-Eight Snub showing Jesse Pinkman walking past a shelf in his house, and there's a MASSIVE pink butt plug on the shelf behind him.

A screenshot from a Reddit AMA with Aaron Paul says:

Why was there a buttplug on the shelf in this scene? http://i.imgur.com/qpKfDwC.png

Oh my god! I have no idea. That's the first time I noticed that. But bravo bitch for pointing out the butt plugs. I'm sure that was a joke from our brilliant set decorators. But happy to know that butt plugs were full effect on Breaking Bad.

So I just found out this image is not only not an edit, but it was posted by Aaron Paul on his official instagram page in 2013, during the leadup to the series finale, and he used the hashtag "SpoilerAlert" and I feel absolutely feral with this knowledge
A black and white image of Anna Gunn (a blonde white woman), Bryan Cranston (A bald white man with a goatee) and Aaron Paul (a younger white man with stubble) all in bed with eachother, all shirtless. They seem to be acting somewhat in character as Skyler White, Walter White, and Jesse Pinkman, from Breaking Bad. Skyler looks pleased, Walter looks thoughtful, and Jesse looks kind of shellshocked. Jesse holds a cigarette and lighter in his hands for a post-coital cigarette.

My opinion on Ali Hazelwood has gone up several notches for giving Wincest and J2 fic authors flowers in the dedication of her werewolf novel
tillywizard.bsky.social
I know I complain about her books being the most tamest training wheels versions of problematic tropes that won’t scare the hoes

but dedicating your mega bestselling novel to (in)famous dead dove rpf incest shippers who have endured years and mountains of anti bullshit is 👑 Queen behaviour

She’s a real one for this dedication. LiveJournal was one of the first places I read fanfics 🖤
To LiveJournal users tehdirtiestsock, the_miss_lv, and pianoforeplay, as well as the anonymous prompters. I hope you’re thriving, wherever you are.

ao3 kudos emails are a beautiful reminder of how fandom is so everlasting. like, someone might read smth i wrote over a decade ago, rejoicing in a new fandom for the very first time, & i may have forgotten that singular joy, but someone will follow in my footsteps. and it's right there in my inbox.

Yeah it's a very "let them eat cake" sort of argument
"why didnt they just teach themselves how to read novels at 5 like i was doing?" (i say that as someone who DID DO THAT!)

BECAUSE THEY DIDNT???? THEYRE KIDS, MAN! there's supposed to be a SYSTEM in place for ppl to learn how!!!!

Read this twt thread and the original study to observe this phenomenon
"Illiteracy" isn't just "can't read words" or "don't know letters"

It's in NOT UNDERSTANDING a given text

Yeah it's BAD that current college/university students literally CAN'T READ
They read words but cannot parse sentences, they see ONE word & make up a thing that allows them to intake it but it's wrong, etc
ITS BAD, BUT ITS NOT THEIR FAULT, MAN
They were supposed to BE TAUGHT THAT
sagegarnish.bsky.social
I will say, I don't particularly like when ppl look at the worrying trend of illiteracy and lacking media literacy and blame the zoomers/alphas in a "haha that generation is stupid" framing

WE HAVE FAILED THEM
THE OLDER GENERATIONS WERE SUPPOSED TO TEACH THAT STUFF
sagegarnish.bsky.social
YEAH I'm the same way
I think plots that have "yearning and miscommunication" are just interesting to me, while "established relationship encounters problems, or are just normal and healthy" plots just aren't
So it's sometimes less about "the ship" and more about the plot choices for me
sagegarnish.bsky.social
Yeah once a ship I enjoy goes canon I am basically like "ok im done now, thanks, later"
Often the "way" ships go canon also isnt to my tastes
Like if it was like all the fic tropes i enjoy, sure, but i typically dont see them do that in published media

For me, part of the thrill and fun of a romance in media is not knowing if it’ll happen!!! That uncertainty is the spice I need to elevate the dish!
It just means I’m picky and impossible to please but OH WHEN IT HITS
sagegarnish.bsky.social
But it just means I’m cursed to watch shows that will stretch out plots, or drop plots, write out characters, or I get spoiled, etc etc lol
sagegarnish.bsky.social
I was explaining to my husband how I prefer shows where I don’t know if two characters will get together, over a specifically romance show where we’re told in advance character A and character B get together

There’s something about knowing that causes my interest to disappear

POV: You are trying to find fanfiction to read in 1968
A yellowed, worn cover of a hand-printed fanzine called Spockanalia. The cover features a bust of Spck drawn in pencil, looking at the viewer. Over his head reads hand-printed text that says "Third Printing" on one line, and "May 1968" on the next.
