I’m rereading the STAR TREK novel DARK MIRROR by @diane.dianeduane.com. It’s the TNG take on the Mirror Universe and it has one of my favorite things in all of Trek, not just Trek Lit, the whole franchise.

i definitely hate how so much of the conversation surrounding transandrophobia is about whether transfems or transmascs have it worse and not, you know, the ways in which the structures of oppression intermingle to create unique variations on shared experiences of violence

I wish more people understood the importance of making a distinction between decriminalization and lack of punitive consequence.
We see it all the time- ppl promoting the Nordic model because it "decriminalizes prostitution"
But does it count as decriminalization if you're still legally punished?

Okay, let's take stock.
So far, we've gotten 87 ballots for the TFR Awards this year, which puts us a little under halfway to last year's total of 208.
My goal is to beat that, ideally hitting somewhere between 250 and 300 ballots.
To accomplish that, my hope is to hit 150 by shortlists.
